That dude has problems.

Good idea. Backwoods is the single best beer Founders makes. Yes, better than KBS and even CBS. At least in my jerkface opinion.

Opened a Flat 12 Half Cycle IPA, which was an instant drain pour. Undercarbonated and just kind of generally unpleasant to drink. Followed it up with their amber, which wasn't anything great but it was solid. Last up is the Central Waters BA Scotch Ale which is really drat good though it's no Backwoods.

I'm one of those people who liked W00t quite a bit. It was boozy but had a thick mouthfeel to justify it and the pecans added a not-like-hops bitterness.

I feel the same way. I thought w00t was really good. Sadly it disappeared before I could pick up another bottle or two. I thought it would be great in another 6 months. Pecans are awesome.

There's nothing wrong with Dragon's Milk. It's an excellent beer. However people on BA would have you believe it is garbage because it sits on shelves and you don't need to wait in a line to get it. Take that same exact beer and make it "hard to get" and people will go crazy for it.

looks like you're equidistant to both Greenville and Charleston, both of which have their respective and excellent Exchange shops, but i have no idea what's in-town. pretty sure you won't be able to find Good Gourd, regardless, as CCB can barely keep up with demand in Florida, much less other states, and that beer came out over a month ago. good luck, though!

So in 2011 I cracked a can of 2009 Ten Fidy and it happened to be on the date the beer turned two.

After a long day, it felt like tonight was a good night to pop an Abyss 2012. Checked the side of the bottle, curious to see when Deschutes said it's best after. I jumped the gun by two hours, apparently. Uncanny.

For what it's worth, it's very very solid at the moment but I'm going to put another 9 months on the rest before trying another from last year.

I may be up at Alpine before Alesmith too depending on whether we get to it earlier in the week. I need to at least try to beg for the scrapings from the bottom of the Monus keg.

I have the following events I need to budget for, I'm kinda glad the Goose Island event didn't entice me:

-FOBAB and the events around FOBAB
-Sweet Repute Release (Would like to get a few bottles)
-Sobre GR Release (assuming it happens)
-BCBS Release
-Dark Horse 4 Elf (2 cases of BB Plead the 5th and other bottles depending on how good they end up being)
-Kuhnhenn Winter Solstice (BB BarleyWine, BB 4D, Rye Whiskey French Toast Mead, Manhattan Project Mead)

'tis the season of Great Lakes releases.

If it's a better value, cool beans - but the pricing I've seen in my area isn't in line with that. Also it's probably just the fallacy of "I like drinking more of it, and it's easier to open one big bottle than two smaller ones."

I didn't even look at how many sessions GI was doing, but last year, their setup probably only held 100 or so people. So 3 sessions means only 300 people means fewer tix than FOBAB.

As much as I'm super excited about BCBS releases this year, I don't think i'm going to bother waiting in line anywhere.

I'm staying the gently caress away from Binnys in Lincoln Park as I know it will be a madhouse the week following release. Plenty of sleeper spots around Chicago where the variants (at least BCBBW, BCBCS and BCBS) should be easily scored with much less hassle.

Did Kuhnhenn announce those bottles as winners for the contest? From what I've heard, the meads aren't quite ready. Knowing Kuhnhenn, they won't be bottles until the night before the Winter Solstice.
