Badly want the Air, but it'd primarily be for writing and there haven't been any keyboard cases announced for the new form factor yet. Does anyone remember how long it took keyboard cases to start to come out for the Mini last year?

I've seen a couple people ask but no answers: which screen protector should I buy for the air? Just the cheapest I can find of amazon or is there a brand or style that is worth paying a little extra for?

After a night of using the air, I'm officially in love. I don't know what it is about the air, but to me it feels like one of apples biggest product innovations along with the retina screen. It's just a joy to hold and use and feels like THE FUTURE. So glad I went with this over the mini.

Finally saw this thing in person and immediately placed an order. This is the first time I've bought AppleCare in 15 years and dozens of Apple devices. Screw cases; I've got 2 replacements! eddiewalker fucked around with this message at 00:59 on Nov 3, 2013 |

This is the first device I buy AppleCare+ for so I'm going to finally be able to just get a front+back protector (the one linked here from amazon) and enjoy living in a post-case world.

The next one you replace and I'm assuming in person, ask if they mind you checking to make sure there are no scratches or dead pixels. Dead/bad pixels are tough though since there is a certain amount they will let pass. I think official policy for iPads are two or three dead pixels? The official policy will be one dead pixel when I go in there it's really not on. The scratch is the worst thing I don't know how you wouldn't notice a screen scratch while checking the thing over.

I'm back in the market for a tablet since I wanted a small device I could take on my work trips. I have a 13 rMBP which is quite small, but even that takes up some space after you carry it around for a while. I also want something I can read with when lying in bed. I've been struggling the last day to not impulse buy the Air and wait for the retina Mini. So of course I drove to the Apple Store. Somehow I didn't give in and convinced myself to wait for the retina Mini, but now I'm hearing rumors of low supply. Are they likely true?

I think it's true. Apple has been selling the large iPad with the same Retina screen for years now. The Retina Mini is a new screen that no one else has sold yet so it's probably constrained.

Jeez, is anyone NOT extremely positive about their new iPad Air? The OG mini had its fair share of complaints (screen and interface complaints mostly), but I don't think I've seen anything consistently complained about regarding the Air. Fuckers need to get here soon.

I already have a 4, but I couldn't resist...I went to Target and bought an Air. BTW if you're looking for a 16gb, Target has them for 479.99 and if you use your Target credit/debit card (or sign up for one), you get an additional 5% off basically paying for taxes. $480.53 out the door in Wisconsin.

The iPad Air is incredible. With how absurdly thin it is, it's really going to change my usage patterns. I can use it literally anywhere and it feels tiny and comfortable. Now I need to wait for a few solid thin cases to show up and decide what I like.

Fuckers need to get here soon. There are a lot of reports of a screen tint issue, at least from users on macrumors.com, and my Air has it as well, but it's so minor that it's really not worth exchanging over. Basically if I am looking at an entirely white screen, the top left will look blueish, and the bottom right will look orangeish. It's not noticeable if the screen isnt completely white. It's definitely a nice improvement over the previous gen, but i'll still be exchanging it for the mini retina, because this thing is still too heavy to comfortably hold with one hand, and I prefer the mini form factor, and the fact that it's getting the same internal hardware, and slightly higher ppi, and the lower price, is making the decision pretty easy for me.

I very briefly played with an Air today, and maybe I let the hype get to me but I didn't find it hOLY SHIIIIIT light like some have been saying. Lighter than my 3, sure, but I'm still on board for the retina mini.

Yeah, honestly, if it wasn't that my top iPad use was comics reading, I would wait out for a retina mini. That said, the Air is a huge improvement over my The new iPad.
