It says nothing of the kind. All it says is that their relationship is unbreakable, that's it. Saying that they have an unbreakable relationship has nothing to do with whether she's a deuteragonist or not. I can kind of see how you'd figure she was one at the start, but if she ever was one she hasn't been one with a long, long time and I don't think Kubo ever really said she was supposed to be - though he may have done so in an interview I don't know about.

I'm guessing if it hadn't been broken in the first place Bachgetsu releasing his power would've resulted in the same dual sword/powerup edit: thinking through this does make me curious about how the Zanpakuto spirits of the Vaizards changed when they were infected. He gets more training arcs, more fights, and tons of screentime compared to much of the bloated cast. He has a boring, lovely bankai that 90% of the cast is fast enough to just outrun. Though that may be because he hasn't "realized it's power" or whatever. Maybe in it's real form the snake is just the tail of a giant bone baboon that shoots energy blasts and breaks apart into a storm of bone shards.

You could say much the same about a good chunk of the cast, outside perhaps the rival thing. Which honestly, I can't even remember the last time there was some kind of nod towards him being an apparent rival. Ishida gets more of that. If it's still there, it's a really minor thing that takes up no more than a few pages here and there at best. Now, you may be referring to the fact Kubo keeps trying to paint him as a great Shinigami, since that got some recent talk thanks to the visit to the King's Realm, but even that's a really minor thing overall, no more than a few pages in a sea of other problems at worst. You don't like his character, so it bugs you more, but that's true of any character in Bleach. You overlook or outright forgive the flaws in the characters you like more than the ones you dislike. Just pick your poison basically.

For a moment, when I saw it, I thought he was trying to pull a Kenpachi "covering a certain part of myself because I'm so hardcore, it would kill you if I didn't," type of thing. But nah. Suppose it was just cause he was about to go crazy-fast. I don't think he removed it, I mean, he only just got it. He hasn't got to show anyone his new threads yet, before they all get blown up/torn off/morphed into a new form-like thing/bankai whatever.

Isn't that only in bankai? His Bankai surrounds him almost like a cloth armor. Byakuya made a point in SS arc to comment on his bankai, then once again the fullbringers mentioned the nature of it once they had his powers.

Every single time I feel like Bleach is dragging on, something like this comes along. Upgraded Bankai is badass as hell. Not sure how accurate the romanization of the kanji is, but isn't Dangai the place between the human world and Soul Society that Ichigo trained in? Was also plesantly surprised that Hinamori didn't get stabbed.....yet.

I know he is always such fodder, and isn't much for winning battles, but Kommamura has always been a favorite of mine. I remember seeing him at first being vastly taller and basket head and thought "this dudes got to be cool." Then the basket is off, mind gets blown, bankai shows up, mind gets blown again. He even looked cool getting popped with Aizen's Black Coffin. Now he disappears for a while, shows up with this armor, and now this? Here's to hoping that in this form Tengen is more sentient and doesn't have to be controlled while Kommamura can double up on the enemy
