I just got told I'm getting a bonus, and my paystub for it came online today. $500 loving dollars. $300 after tax. What a 'gently caress you'. So, How can I best blow $300 on beer? Should I buy a case of Loons? Something else? Put together an order on Belgium in a box. You can get about eleven bottles of cantillon shipped for 270$ or so.

Apparently there has been some kind of distributor snafu because there is no Backwoods Bastard south of Division. River North Binny's and one of my other bottle shops both told me they were invoiced it but there was nothing on the truck. I was under the impression they made a ton of this stuff too =\.

I haven't seen any Backwoods Bastard in Philly outside of bars yet. In fact I had one at Grey Lodge this weekend and it was excellent. I just want a six pack, but I have a feeling it's going to be hard to find.

So I'm right edit - This is somewhat less correct now than it was a few years ago. Now you can buy up to 192oz of beer (yes, there is a limit) at certain grocery stores. But the main places I shop are still bottle shops that specialize in singles and build-your-own. deedee megadoodoo fucked around with this message at 15:29 on Nov 6, 2013 |

Sort of beer related? Does anyone with prior FoBAB knowledge know about transferring tickets? Does it have to be in the attendee's name (ie email BPT or something?) or do they just need to show up with A legit ticket?

So unless you contacted them prior to have a name change, I dunno how it would work without the original ticket buyer there as well.

December in Michigan is wallet destroyer for beer nerds and then we have a dry spell for the rest of the year: - Kuhnhenn Winter Solstice (good luck walking out without dropping $200 or so) - Dark Horse 4 Elf (I'll be definitely getting BB Pt5, BBA 6 Pairs of Legs, BBA 3 Pairs of Legs, and whatever is good on tap) - Founders always does a Backstage - Jolly Pumpkin seems to always do one bottle release in December.

I was there last night, they told me the keg had kicked and that they're saving their last one for the pre-FoBAB party. I'm considering driving up for 4 Elf. It's a little strange how they're doing the bottles though; I was hoping that I'd be able to get my order form, get bottles into my car, get the car back to the hotel, and spend 11am onward drinking. Do they allow overnight parking for people too wasted to drive?

Really not interested in standing in line for hours, outside, in mid-December. Probably going to hit up Eccentric Day this year instead.

Bottle shares while waiting in line are the best part!

You can transfer tickets via brown paper tickets, you just need to have the ticket number with bar code and the name of the original ticket buyer. Pretty sure you can do the whole transfer via e-mail or text message. I think when I did it it was through text message.

I am getting the idea that people in New England are generally poor neighbors and really hate people turning around in their driveway for some reason yes. There are a couple of breweries in Bend that are in sort-of residential areas. Boneyard is right in what passes for the ghetto in Bend (and is nothing but growler fills so pretty much the same in-and-out setup as Alchemist), and people park all up and down the side street 10 Barrel is on because there's maybe about 16 parking spots to cover for them and 3 other businesses. There are a couple "no parking" signs up on driveways but no one seems to complain that badly and there is peace on the streets. (It helps that the drunks pretty much stick to downtown to cause trouble.) Still if Alchemist is that much of a jewel of beer, best in the world, employs a couple dozen people etc, etc, then it might just be time for them to find a retail location back on Main St. SUPER HASSLER fucked around with this message at 23:13 on Nov 6, 2013 |
