Yes, but the point of the video is that I'm only touching the arm and swinging him around trying to make the chest flop open, but there's enough friction in the gearing that it doesn't move.

But it's shot from an angle that obscures that "fact" completely. As far as I can tell one of your fingers is on the chest. I'm not saying you're lying, but I'm definitely saying that I still haven't SEEN this phenomenon at work.

Every time the Dead Universe has been brought up I've thought that the end game for it was Unicron. Then instead they had all the Decepticons combine into a big demon thing called D-void except for Megatron because he's overpowered far beyond the point of being interesting anymore in the IDW-verse. Maybe they'll do it this time.
I think Unicron is essentially something else in the IDW-verse. I really thought Chaos was going to be about him, given he's the Chaos bringer, but maybe they have some other long game story to deal with him eventually. He's a pretty loving big one, plus Prime actually did him pretty well recently. I think Monstrosity dealt with Quintessons though I never read it so if anyone subjected themselves to further Metzenformers they should let us know if that referenced Unicron at all.

The more I think about it the more surprised I am that Dark Cybertron doesn't involve literally anything else. There's so many better threads they could have picked or just began building. Shockwave resurrects a dead titan by combining death and life twisted energon is such an awesome hook, and it's just blown here as like a phone line to another universe? Put your imagination in movie trailer mode, envision a movie trailer or High moon game trailer where Shockwave pulls that off - Imagine a game where you fight against Shockwave forcefully converting Cybertronians into hideous combiners to nullify their personalities and the last fight in the game is Shockwave riding his unliving titan. This is a plot they could have used.

Beyond the Roberts laid hook about the galactic council, he specifically referenced that when the evil member of the guiding hand perished that death "died" among Cybertronians. And then talked at length about how Tailgate's cyber crosis might symbolize mortality among them. You know, implying death walked among them again?

After further review I find that all three of mine do this as well. My chest moves if I have the arms parallel to the chest, like he's pointing the gun at you. If you try to move the arm vertically in this position, the chest moves. Sure if its off to the side, the gearing does a drat good job of keeping the chest from moving, but nobody poses their figures like they're being crucified so thats pointless. What I believe everyone is referring to is the chest does not lock when you want to move the arms in a position that makes sense for arms. Because 99% of my other figures don't require me to swing their arms out to the side to move them to a new position, or hold the chest in place to do the same thing.

But all in all I'm glad we were able to solve the mystery of the "my chest doesn't move" story.

Dark Cybertron is whatever, but hopefully it will bring some changes to the cast in both of the series. Springer and Guzzle/Impactor are past due for an appearance, and there's plenty of Decepticons unaccounted for(like Sixshot, who hasn't been seen since that Metroplex Spotlight issue). I'd really like to see an actual Decepticon or two wind up on the Lost Light, too.

It's funny because I personally know someone who hated the first Beast Hunters voyager OP and said "the cyberverse looks much better, why didn't they just upscale that one!?". If I was a jerk I'd be totally :smug: with him now.

Now, having seen the interview (was it vangelus? I forget) where they explain these figures I kinda understand why they did it. The packages also make special mention on how few steps they take to transform (at least for the deluxes) and the voyagers have at least been modified a bit and include more articulation than the deluxes that are just upscaled legends with little to no changes. They pretty much explained these were an experiment and that the plan was to make new, simple molds in the future but to keep modern levels of articulation. Generations molds wouldn't be simplified (more) since they're more collector-oriented.

Oh and hey I guess the new voyager Predaking looks pretty neat.

Secret Santa sounds super awesome but I'll be skipping this one, shipping internationally is a bit troublesome for me for now.

I don't think you quite get what I'm saying. I'm not saying his chest doesn't pop up if you do that, I'm saying who loving cares? In 30 years of TF fandom I have never heard "arms move flawlessy in all directions at a single touch with no user-support of any other body part" as a criterion for a good mold design.

The reason I have said my Jazz is fine is because until tonight I never tried to lift the arm up like that without holding the chest in place, not because I was aware it needed holding, but because it's the most obvious way to hold the figure when moving the fairly stiff arms, which are much preferable to floppy loose arms. Consider my mind blown that people have been bitching about this mold for literally years now because of a thing that only happens in a completely solvable situation.

Word is the upscaled Terrorcons have the pegs used in combining removed. I'm temped to buy Twinstrike and Windrazor and try to kitbash some better articulation into them, they were the only two Terrorcons I had as a kid so I'm kind of sentimental toward them, but I think its beyond my skill level.
