Lol here's something that popped up on my google news page today Barack Obama Was A Gay Cokehead Slut in College Article links through to Right Wing Watch and from there to a bunch of crazy people, but it was funny to see pop up in such a visible place. I'm on my work computer, and it deletes all cookies and browsing history every night, so it's not like it was tailoring poo poo based on my viewing history.

I like how she says she went to high school with him in Hawaii and his name was Barry Soetoro when this can be easily disproved with a high school yearbook.

I was stuck in a hotel in the desert for a few days, and the only English channel was Fox News. I can't find the video on YT, but O'Reilly and Lou Dobbs did a segment on income inequality. They began by laying out Obama's principles (socialism, wealth redistribution) and then talked about wage stagnation, lack of savings and all that poo poo we bring up here all the time. They tried to connect the two ideas, and really struggled on television to make things coherent. "The Democratic Party is capitalist" would be too much of a leap, I guess.

Nicknames can be funny and endearing when they're not given to you by someone more powerful. It's the hierarchy that fucks things like this up -- your boss is not your friend, and it can be humiliating for them to pretend they are. Also on 'Man of Steel' for little Johnny Howard. I'll have them know some of my best friends were gay cokehead sluts in college!

Voyager I posted:I was born in '89, so I was a bit too young to really understand what was happening in the world when Bush won election. Gore was as wooden as Kerry, if not more so, and Bush was pushing "compassionate conservatism", which some people interpreted as "Republicanism for non-assholes" and so voted in favor of. The election was also famously, ridiculously close so it's not like he was voted in with very much acclaim. Then 9/11 happened and the whole compassionate part went out the window. There's a lot more nuance to it than that, but you did ask for the short version.

Throw away the loving key. You use drugs once, you go away forever. But his personal horse tranquilizer addiction was a "problem." Just that. Nothing more. A problem. All OTHER drugs users were ravening criminals that were just WAITING to steal your wallet and eat your children, but Rush? Naw man, he just had a bit of a problem. Those tens of thousands of horse downer pills they caught him with weren't a big deal.

There was literally a right wing talk show host filling in for another right wing talk show host in Cleveland that brought up this really lame argument. "THIS GENERATION..DIDN'T SERVE LIKE OUR GRANDFATHERS, THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT FREEDOM MEANS!!! I REALLY DOUBT THEY WOULD TAKE UP ARMS IF OUR FREEDOM WAS EVER CHALLENGED!" "MAYBE WE SHOULD BRING BACK THE DRAFT!!!!!!!" ... What the gently caress does that have to do with anything? Yes the two generations (Greatest, Boomers a bit) had to battle communism and fascism respectfully. But guess what? We don't have to anymore. I can't see a scenario where Hitler II comes back or where the Soviets return barring some insane economic collapse in some form of a world power. Also, to boot, the guy was in Gen X. What loving wars did that generation fight?
