Top one was a mega crop from the 55-250 on a 600D. Definitely shows its weakenesses, but I dont use a long lense often enough to warrant buying a nicer replacement.

What kind of special equipment are you thinking of getting? I literally do all my shooting with a plane jane D3100 and kit lens, usually no tripod and only very occasionally will I rent a nicer lens if I'm going on a trip or something. If you want to shoot landscapes, go shoot!

I just meant I'm going to pick up a camera that isn't limping by at the end of its lifetime like that sad old FE2 was. I was asking in the gear thread and thought I might pick up something like a D7000 and a 10-24 mm f/3.5-4.5, as well as keeping the 50 mm f/1.4 AI-S that the FE2 originally came with. Also thanks folks for the examples about post production and stuff, I just wasn't really sure how far some do or don't take it but yeah I have no software or anything at the moment so looking nice straight out of the camera would be really great. I'm probably going to pick up my stuff fairly soon so I can get out and about again with gear that actually works and gives me faster feedback.

Love, love, love this.

Here's a classic cliche from Banff - Moraine Lake a couple of summers ago. It's a merged panorama from about 6 handheld shots. Unfortunately I was lazy while shooting and have a little mixed focus in there.

Props for taking a nice shot of trees. I am always seeing trees that I think look nice but god drat it is tough to compose them nicely. The negative space w/ the ferns in the bottom of the shot really makes it work.

I went to La Gomera for my 30th birthday. I've been there before, so I had some shots planned. Of course I basically got none of those, except maybe a bunch of the "sunlight through fog in a forest" thing. It's really frustrating looking at my photos, because I kinda feel I fail to capture how it's one of the most beautiful places on earth.
