I am bored, and my dwarf's name is Sproin. Is the Defiant storyline a little more evil than the guardians? I want to make a necromancer or a defiler or something evil and nasty but it's kinda hard when you're chilling with a bunch of angels.

In fact there was a line to kill Regulos, the time machine just fixes itself. ^^ That quest sounds awesome. Coolest Defiant quest is in Stonefield where the defiants Find a magic door and decide to open it because they can control the titan on the other side. The titan smashes the defiant machine and you need to build a thing to kill it. A big part of the defiants is that there's a good chance they'll accidentally destroy the world. Invite should be waiting for you in mail next time you log on. There's really no reason to not add your alts to the guild, if you post their names we can mail them invites too.

As a former WoW/SWTOR/GW2 player, this game intrigues me. I have some dumbass newbie questions though. I downloaded it through Steam and hit play as guest - and didn't have to create an account. Does this mean the characters I make are linked to my Steam account in a sort of single-sign-on type dealio? Are there any downsides to never making an account? I realise this is F2P but I know there are also things that are recommended to buy for the basics. Steam has a few DLC packs, and I know there's a bunch of stuff on the in-game store. What's recommended for a new player? Guilds are server-specific, right? In which case, is there an Oceanic goon guild? Or can I transfer to the server the goon guild is on without cost?

None of them are, strictly speaking, necessary for leveling and raiding unless you're a warrior, in which case the Storm Legion souls have your only ranged DPS soul. Guilds are server specific, but not faction specific on PvE servers. To the best of my knowledge there is no real goon presence on the Oceanic server. Server transfers are free with the only limiting factors being that each character can only transfer once a week and you can't transfer from the EU shards to the US shards or vice versa.

Is it just me or are warriors super unpopular? I wonder what that is, other than the fact that their support soul sucks and nobody likes tanking... Is their DPS decent at least? I like being a giant dude in plate armor, and since no one plays them at least I'd get tons of plate drops.

And as for playing, if you want to raid later on, roll on EU, but if you just want to chat with some goons and do experts, and maybe raid once every full moon, roll US. The ping is a non issue.

if anyone wants to watch us progress and (hopefully) kill one of the harder bosses in the game right now (volan) we'll be streaming at http://twitch.tv/mimseh around 5:30pm server time (us). it's an extremely tough fight and we got him down to 19% last night after roughly 3 nights (12 hours give or take) of progression, so we're throwing in an extra raid day this week to hopefully get a kill.
