The article discussed the how the precise shape of the ramps was determined etc. That was apparently the first computer designed and calculated stunt done.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the problem either. The guy's a suspect in an armed robbery and he's running, sometimes against traffic, from at least a half dozen units. Of course he's going to have a gun pointed at him any chance the officers get. He wasn't taken down particularly hard, there was a second where I thought face was about to meet fender but it didn't happen, and then at that point you just have a cop hopped up on adrenaline yelling at the idiot that put everyone in the position they're in.

The use of gun to face is excessive. The suspect is on the ground, unarmed, and cooperating. You dont need to keep the gun stuffed in his eyeball while screaming about how you will kill him. If the officer had actually been in control of his emotions, the gun would have been holstered as soon as he was apprehended. But he was out of control, because he is a scrub fish and game guy pretending to be a hotshot.
