The Reddit free-speech crowd has that, infinite personal rights, libertarian viewpoint. Being white, American dudes, they have no clue how to react when a laissez faire approach doesn't directly benefit them.

No. That was the last punch of a long combo that just happened to tag him right in the sweet spot on his chin and knock him out. It was basically an accident. Game consoles don't go through major iterations like most consumer electronics. A lot of these problems, like the DRM and Kinect issues have been known for months and went unfixed. Sony also just had an incredibly smooth launch with the PS4 and one of the major developers for 343 Industries, developers of the Halo series, left to work for a Sony studio and tweeted about how much nicer it was to work on Playstation dev software instead of Windows 8. EDIT: Oh, and people have been finding developer test discs in their consoles. There's a lot of schadenfreude to go around basically. 1stGear has a new favorite as of 19:21 on Nov 23, 2013 |

Most of those iterations were minor changes that increased hard drive space or were linked to a specific game release. You can't really compare it to smartphones which generally aim for increased functionality with each iteration. "Early adopter", unless its a raw, completely new product, is also a terrible excuse for a product with fundamental flaws.

Even if it were the case, it would then be just as much a freedom of speech for someone else to out him for his shittiness. The thing about this idea that really gets me is that there have been actual pedos who have posted "I have never abused anyone, I just have no sexual desire for anyone but kids and it sucks" posts in AMA or something and even those guys don't get outed. You really have to cross a bunch of very fat red lines before anyone on Reddit is going to start trying to take internet into real life. And people who bitch inevitably pretend that what was said is no different from someone posting they're an Atheist on /r/Atheism and then having someone contact that person's very religious family and outing them as non-religious or something similar. I don't have a goddamn clue though, where these guys got the idea that anonymity is part of free speech rights. It takes a particular kind of person to think that they have the right to say anything they want and never stand behind it. If anonymity was part of free speech we'd have no anti-bullying or harassment laws anywhere. You buy it with the expectation that you'll use it for the entirety of the console generation.

I'm trying to find a video of cars sliding down a hill during a snow storm. It's similar to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhZCyQ3emQg but it's during the day I think and there's a guy or two watching out the window alerting everyone to get out of the way and one car manages to nail every car parked on the street.
