There's a reservoir that I run around regularly near home. The other night I ran around it and ran 11km. With my Samsung Galaxy S4, I grabbed this panorama after I'd finished, as I thought it looked nice, and I wanted to test out the panorama mode on the camera. Turns out, it works alright. VSCO Cam. I see a lot of tastefully filtered photos in this thread. Is this due to increased popularity of apps like VSCO Cam and Afterlight? Are people on Instagram eschewing heavy handed Instagram and Hipstamatic filters for apps that have a lighter touch? I'm just glad the fake-HDR trend seems to have died down...

It's a crazy warehouse of oil field core and cutting samples, unique in North America. That was just one row out of maybe 50 rows or so. 1.8 million meters of core sample, with a second floor that has 19 million vials of cuttings.

Recently got back from my first trip to Chicago. What a great city to photograph...really made me regret not bringing my DSLR (or wish that I had a newer iPhone).

jackpot posted:This is fantastic, wow. I always forget about the panorama setting, I've gotta bust it out more often. It's very versatile. In low light situations it has a lot of grain but the grain looks great and the image still comes out perfect. The panorama function of the iPhone camera is one of the biggest software triumphs Apple has had in the last few years.

Are there any apps that let you skew/distort photos as a way of fixing perspective distortion? It sucks taking a picture of something like a building or a brick wall, or even just a room where ceiling and floor are both visible, only to find out you didn't hold the phone absolutely dead-on perfectly straight and now your lines are all hosed up. poo poo like this drives me nuts when it's my own photo: 1st AD posted:
So easy to fix! And yet, can't fix! Also, are there any camera apps that let you pick the focusing point? Like maybe a slider that lets you say "Focus on this spiderweb, not the trees behind it"?
