I suddenly decided I wanted to play again and that I wanted to play an Iksar SK. I have like 4k on a guy in EC and I want to blow it to make a tough existence a little easier. What should I get and how the hell do I get it to the Field of Bone? I already have a couple 5/55 rings, I think.

Could I not get some random SK-only weapons for cheaper, and maybe even at better ratios / not -30 Poison Resist? The Ik cultural armor looks like it kind of sucks for the presumably large amount of money it would cost. I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for it. I'd rather not, and continue looking cool and lizardly and swinging 2H swords in a profoundly confusing arc.

I think Skullmonkey can make it, but it's not especially awesome for a shadowknight. The cheapest way to gear up a new Iksar SK is to go to KC with em and scrape Jarsath Scale rots. These are all either cheap enough that you don't have to worry much about reselling or common/in-demand enough that they're easy to flip to get your money back when you outgrow them. Then you can get the bigger 2-hander or MoSS/nocti/ebon mace that you've been lusting after.

I seem to have hit a snag with my trading. I put most of my money into a Froglok Bonecaster's Robe thinking it would sell, but I just can't seem to find even one buyer. I first tried listing at 3800 hoping someone desperate to twink would pick it up, but then later dropped to 3500 when it wasn't moving. I haven't even got any of the usual reseller messages low-balling me either. I saw the item posted a lot in auctions and I also see a lot of casters wearing it, so I am just wondering if I am having a string of bad luck or if really nobody wants the robe and I misjudged the market for it? (I need to go back to reselling Book of Obulus. People sure love having themselves an open book!)

Thanks for the advice, guys. I do like the idea of cheapish weapons so I can keep them all caught up. If anyone's got a Deathbringer's Rod, Soul Binder or Poison Wind Censer they're trying to sell, I'm your guy. I'm gonna just do banded for now I guess because I am super unfamiliar with Kunark as a whole and trying to run to KC would just frustrate me. edit: n/m, found a DB Rod. Hey all, I joined up kind of early before the current wave started, and as much as I would like to keep playing, I don't think I'm going to have the time. aparmenideanmonad was really awesome and got me one of those really good shaman spears (I'm sorry having a memory lapse and can't remember what it's called) and a couple hundred plat. I've got that stuff and some banded and other stuff sitting on my Troll over at Guk. I don't want this stuff to go to waste, so for any goons want it, I would be glad to log on and hand it off. I'm on Asia (Beijing) time, so let me know awhile before-hand and we can work out a time to meet in-game.

Nothing wrong with someone chatting about their guild. TMO has definitely cleaned up their act of late. For a new raider looking to see all the current content, they're the best option at the moment. That said, there's very good reasons that a lot of veteran raiders don't like TMO, and it's much easier to attribute the recent good behavior to a relative lack of competition than it is to a real change in willingness to break rules when it suits them. It won't be clear which is the case until a real competitor shows up (aka when vets come back for Velious). Also, as I've said before, unless you're a raid leader or puller, you probably have no idea what kind of poo poo your guild is actually doing when mobs are contested. You either see a mob show up and kill it or you hear about the shady poo poo the other guild did in /gu. At any rate, there are plenty of nice people in TMO and all the other raiding guilds. That doesn't stop them (the guilds) from collectively behaving like childish assholes on the regular.

The only real annoying part to me as someone interested in the raid scene but never raids is that TMO and others pretend like their plans are top secret. You got 60 people in Seb, it's not exactly a secret what you're hoping to do, quit acting like a prick when I try to have a conversation. You'd think they wouldn't care if a 60 wizard wanted to tag along and nuke, more DPS for them, but apparently I'm a spy and going to ruin their plans.

When 60 people in one guild are in Seb (that's way more than ever actually show up), it means Trak has already spawned. There's no point in trying to tag along at that point, everyone in the raiding guilds are already fully buffed and are hoping their guild gets the first to engage message. If your guild doesn't get FTE, then everyone is logging out to prevent getting trained and in hopes that the other guild wipes. In my experience, we have let numerous people tag along for raid mobs - but everything happens so fast that it is hard to incorporate tag alongs that do not have access to our ventrilo server. edit: spelling Also, it does your guild no good to say what you are up to. If Trak spawns and another guild doesn't know, why would you want to tell a random person that trak is up? It could very well be a member of another guild, who then relays the spawn info to everyone in their guild. It may be awhile before I journey to the main continent, I was gonna check out Kurn's a little bit. Also I'm frightened of the prospect of not having anywhere to sell / bank / buy food and drink. I just paid some wizard to take my lowbie weapons, 5/55s and Atr Shield that I blew all the rest of my plat on over to my lizard because I was too impatient to even find a set of Banded, hahaha. Some druid dude did give me a Helm of Rile and Seb Boots, which was sweet.
