It's also there for Japan, with different dates - ends Jan 13 (which I think is also the last date for the buy-2-games-get-a-free-Nintendo-download offer) and download codes "by the end of the month"

Hopefully this means they'll get the puzzle page too - it's one of 3 that I can't get pink pieces for because not even the other 2 or 3 Japanese 3DSes floating around where I live (going by streetpass notifications for Fantasy Life Link / Tomodachi Collection) don't have them either (Dalmatia sports, the free-to-play dog-fronted baseball game, and Monster Hunter 4 are the others)

Two Tribes said NOA doesn't currently allow for the sort of discounts they're offering in PAL-land, but that they plan to do a bigger traditional sale at some point. NOA's PR is hopeless, so I don't know if that sale starts today or in the future. (EDIT: NA gets the same Toki Tori discount and a flat 50% off Toki Tori 2+.)

Odd that PAL-land is getting a better deal on NES Remix, it's usually the other way around. Even Australia has it pretty good ($13AUD).

(NOE announced SMB3 for release on WU/3DS VC next week, too, and they're teasing some sort of launch deal. Could it be cross-buy? Nah.)

I think they talked about this in the Direct, it's just a little cheaper until January 2nd. £3.79 for the 3DS version and £2.79 for the Wii U version. (From January 3rd the prices will be £4.49 and £3.49)

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel lovely when they claim a game will come out within a certain time-frame and it comes out after that time-frame has passed. Its no excuse with loving SMB3, that should've come out the day it was announced.

I hope the Trine devs were telling the truth about devs being given full control over pricing their game and sale prices and all that. It kinda defeats the point if Nintendo can step in the way and say "no you can't do that".

Two Tribes are trying to do a sale where the more games of theirs you own, the better the price is. So that does require some kind of technical cooperation from NOA.

Apparently it's just a really weird backwards bureaucratic issue involving the way NOA pitches eShop policy changes to NCL or something? Like, NOA is behind most of the big new initiatives but they're implemented in NOE first and don't get to NOA until later. I don't know. Nintendo is weird.
