Current top 7 picks: 1. Houston Texans - 2-13 (.554) 2. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-12 (.521) 3. Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-11 (.504) 4. Cleveland Browns - 4-11 (.517) (3-8 conference record) 5. Oakland Raiders - 4-11 (.517) (4-7 conference record) 6. Atlanta Falcons - 4-11 (.554) 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-11 (.579) Scenarios: 1. if Houston wins and Washington loses, St. Louis (Washington) gets the #1 pick and Houston slides to 2. Jacksonville can take #2 if they lose and Washington wins. Basically, Houston should be throwing this if they want the #1 pick. 2. If the Redskins and Jaguars both win, and Cleveland loses, the Browns move all the way up to the #2 pick. Should the Browns win (yeah right), they could potentially drop to #7 (thanks for the tie game Minnesota!). The Jags could win since they play a Colts team likely resting starters, but the Redskins play the Giants who have nothing to lose or gain. Today we are all Jaguars/Redskins fans. 3. If the Browns and Raiders both win their game, which will not happen since they're playing the Steelers and Broncos respectively, the Browns would still pick ahead of Oakland thanks to conference record, but they would be picking in roughly the same spot of the draft, give or take a few spots. 4. The "best" of the worst, Tampa Bay, could lock up the #4 spot at best if everyone above them wins and they lose. Not too likely. 5. Minnesota is locked at #8 thanks to their dumbass tie and neither a win nor a loss will impact their standing, so go Vikings. 6. There is a lot of movement that can happen between 9 and 19 but who cares about those teams.

The Vikings will pick no higher than 8th, but can technically pick as high as 3rd. That being said, it is possible for them to lose and still pick 8th, so in order to move up they need to lose and the 4-11 teams need to win. Provided they lose, they can move up a slot for each 4-11 team that wins, though based on matchups, the best they can realistically hope for is to maybe move up a slot or two.

Letting Florida score 16 points is the definition of a blowout regardless how many points you score. The whole defense should have committed ritual suicide for that disgrace.

Unless you're in one of maybe two conferences in the FBS, a QB is not gonna face a whole ton of good (or at least physical) defenses anyway, so level of competition doesn't matter too much to me, so long as they're in the FBS and playing FBS opponents. Or else we would only be talking about Zach Mettenberger and his backwards leg I guess. I'm a grumpy gus about QBs and I usually look for reasons to hate them coming into the draft, but I have had a hard time finding reasons to call Bridgewater overrated. I did see ESPN say some scouts favor Hundley over Bridgewater and that's perfectly fair from a pure raw talent level evaluation, but I can find things to hate about Hundley. It's hard to find things to hate about Bridgewater. The 7th Guest fucked around with this message at 19:34 on Dec 29, 2013 |

Love that Bridgewater put up maybe his best college game in his last one, and on a relatively big stage. The discussion of Clowney vs Teddy is going to be that much more entertaining.

A Cowboys fan can only dream.

Well the Texans have just about locked in the #1 pick. With 2:50 in the game and 1 timeout left, down by 9, Wade Phillips sends in the FG unit on 4th and goal from the 2 So new coach as well I guess

The Vikings secured the 8th pick in the draft today and at least through the early games, they wouldn't have moved in the draft with a loss. With that being said, 8 is kind of a rough spot in the draft for the Vikings. They'll likely be looking at the 3rd or 4th QB in the draft and the best options on defense appear to be at linebacker. The big question will be how well both Barr and Mack project in a 4-3. I don't expect the Vikings to stick with a Tampa 2, but I think that even with a coaching change they'll retain a 4-3 front. The other options at 8 would be OT, which isn't a need even with down years by both tackles, and WR, which isn't one of their major needs, but could be an option.

The Browns should be picking 4th and unfortunately they are also fourth in line for teams needing to draft a QB. St. Louis may hang on to Bradford, but it takes a special kind of suck to get a top 5 pick and end up with the 3rd-4th rated passer.

I realize Hoyer is still a unproven factor and not someone you should totally bank on, but considering how many teams are freaking out over QB, I don't think it'd be a bad idea for Cleveland to hitch their ride on him and draft a backup in the 2nd round or something in case things fall through. Of course, if Cleveland did this, Cleveland dictates that Hoyer is a complete flash-in-the-pan bust.
