Seaweed!? Get the fuck out!
Well, the holidays are over, and I am free to Pass Judgment

EDIT 1 point: Indolent Bastard!

Sorry for the delayed response, but upon review, I've found Indolent Bastard worthy of placement. Excellent weathering techniques and a deep familiarity of Ork style is always nice to see, and you are certainly the go-to guy for both of those things.

2 points: Matgash!

You always put out sexy work, but these bikes are by far a cut above. Aside from the clean and subdued palette choices, you did manage to put the bikes together in a way that hides the seams and splits that the awful casting creates. While not really a part of my judgment process, the end result is a smooth, lovely canvass that you take full-advantage of, which definitely scores marks on my side of things.

3 points: Slimnoid!

For the second time in a row, I am blown away by a palette-swap enough to put someone into the three-point category. Aside from a fantastic interpretation on this and other models, you also managed to get a whole lot of them done to a rather high standard, which is another thing that I love to see. Your stuff is always good, but this month you've outdone yourself.

Special Cool-Person Point: Schmetterling!

I shouldn't have to tell you why this doesn't work, but it's because of these many, obvious reasons that I love these guys. Art evokes emotions, and I find it hilarious that even in undeath, these guys gotta keep them locks in top shape.

Ok, now I've done all I can to identify my painted zombies in the group shot, and also in the seperate shots.
I've tried to find something that identifies every single zombie from my oath, circled it in mspain, and tried to find the same characteristic in the oath complete shot and the group shot. :spergin:

Things to note:
a1, a2, a3 and b1 are all 4 zombies on a single base.
I tried to cross out all the non-oath zombies with pink crosses in the group shot.

Oath addition/batch b

I really hope this helps you out. Or at least I hope my effort in identifying my zombies will convince you I'm not trying to get away with foul play :smith:

Smooth and striking colors and a prevalence of warm tones always go well together, but are often hard to get right. You, however, pull it off with aplomb; the controlled use of blues to really make the reds, browns and yellows pop is a great trick, and your overall execution is an impressive showing!

Unfortunately, OneTrueBru isn't eligible for judging for November, because he didn't do a regular Oath - he only Saved a Whale. Regretfully you'll have to select someone else for third place. (If his image was included in the slideshow, that was an error, probably due to my including a link to his finished post in the spreadsheet, but I did that to track the Whale complete entry, so it's not Krushgroove's fault that happened.) I regret the confusion this caused.

Super quick with a big ol brush, probably should've taken a shot for speed painting. NMM isn't something I usually desire cuz I love metallics so hard, but I figured I'd give it a test go anyway. Definitely learned a few things:

- I'm not immediately very good at it.

- The high contrast look isn't really working, the tones should be much closer together. I like how the knee pad turned out best.

- A black wash at the onset may not have been a great idea, way too dark in the recesses.

- NMM takes frickin ages to achieve even iffy results. Probably not going to go for it in any large capacity in the future, but could definitely see throwing on some arcane wargear or something.

OK folks, just a heads-up for next month: we'll be doing a separate mini-competition that anyone who completes any NON-Games Workshop model is eligible to participate in, and vote for the winner!

It'll work just like the previous user votes (3 for 40K, 1 for Malifaux), with our own goon NTRabbit providing a selection of Mastic models for the winner at the end of January!

This month's prize will be for the painters of all the finished 40K oaths, I'll post something later this week.

3rd Place, 1 Point: moths

First off, the picture is great. The actual paint job is outstanding as well. The mud clumps, the weathering on the bed of the truck, the horizon on the windows/mirrors. Your infantry as well look sharp, the bases are on point, the facial hair came out nicely.

2nd Place, 2 Points: Red Shoe

This guy stood out for me. The base, the cloak, the turban, the tanned skin, it all works together perfectly. Dude looks like he belongs there. Also digging the Nyss Hunters, the grey/brown/bone combo looks sweet.

1st Place, 3 Points: Namenlos

Amazing job all around. Great base, great color choices. It would be easy for something like this to look too busy, but that is not the case here, you struck the tone right on the button, looks sweet. I especially like that purple, the highlights on the arms are awesome. Mustache is killer too.

That is a good question. I think the answer is 'no', because if you previously submitted it for judging for a monthly Oath, it shouldn't also be eligible for judging for the diorama. But that might not be a big deal. I'll discuss it with Krushgroove.
