So basically Hanse is either going to get stabbed by the Kuritas, or he'll be stabbed and his child coopted. Anyway the FWL is planning an offensive, if it doesn't end up just escorting the Clans and perhaps attacking the NRWR then it may hit the Capellans from the other side.

JT Jag posted:No, Hanse will survive because he's lucky as hell and has Protagonist Powers. He'll only gently caress up if it's a magnificent fuckup. It wouldn't be Battletech otherwise. I don't know, I read this and then suddenly had a vision of Hanse beating the clans only for his Asian wife to pack up their kid and half his kingdom and leaving. In a twist it turns out the other half of his kingdom had been stealthy replace by Capellan body doubles over the last few decades. Hanse is forced to abdicate and live out the rest of his days on the nuclear cinder to which the Taurians reduced New Avalon. It turns out that it was good for Hanse that canonically he died young, as living longer turns his life into a Greek tragedy revolving around hubris.

Oh! I figured it was a bt evil clone deal. But still, killing Duke Morgan might not be that smart. But they can always spin it as the taurians did it and get points that way.

Honestly I'm more interested in the unborn Kurita-Davion. From what I've gathered in this thread the reason the Federated Commonwealth split apart was because the Steiner-Davions were all colossal fuckups. I think it'd be cool if the Draconis Suns persisted rather than echo the established canon, but it's probably too early to speculate what with the Clans and the child's gender still in question.

At the risk of going on another tangent on why the FedCom split up, it was basically hosed from the moment they decided to make it a single super-state instead of a military and economic alliance. Trying to govern two states that have almost nothing in common except a vague commitment to the ideals of Western Liberalism as one doesn't really work. You're right that Hanse's kids were all colossal fuckups, though, and Peter's really the only one who realized it and said "I need to go get my head straight." Then they killed him off. I should specify: the nuclear incident has already happened (thanks to our last political vote!). What Justin needs to wait for or manufacture is an instance or two of Confederation and Duchy troops working together and not murdering each other immediately afterwards.

Hey we did work together.... briefly. (admittedly the not murdering each other part may need a little more work.) Point Zero MvP: Huron Warrior Yantei MvP Firebee for maximum OpFor MvP Cicada: Demonstrating why mechs that fast and that well armed are dangerous And voting wise A Anything that fucks with the Taurians is a good thing.

B. Even if the Capellans are best at skullduggery, there's a point where you need to be a little prudent. Right after everyone blows each other up is a good start.
