Danger - Octopus! posted:Saw this article about Ministry on Twitter and thought it might interest people here(possibly I'm following one of you guys, WHO KNOWS?) That was a great article. My favorite part were the tidbits about Al just blatantly stealing tracks from people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH93nVX4If8

Hah. He played guitar for Divine? That's awesome. Now this is interesting: quote:I think we’ve established that Jourgensen’s early pop work was a combination of ambition and earnest appreciation for English pop, and that the shift to industrial dance was influenced in large part by an interest in Front 242 and DAF. But why the guitars? A number of answers have been floated, but the explanation he gave to various publications when the album came out is straight forward: he was sick of electronic music. By 1988, everyone was doing it, and he wanted to do something different. BrutalistMcDonalds fucked around with this message at 06:50 on Jan 11, 2014 |

I've always found reading about Ministry much more interesting and enjoyable than actually listening to them.

quote:Actually, the keyboard player on [the track] ‘Move’ is Al Jourgensen. I called him up and said: ‘How do you want me to list you on the record?’. He goes: ‘just call me Dog’. So I called him Dog, right? About two years later he calls me up, very upset that I had called him Dog on the record, and why didn’t I list his proper name? Yeah, this about sums up everything I've ever read or heard about Al Jourgensen.

I knew about it from 'bin therre' being the first thing raymond watts has officially done since...'06, i wanna say? There's been enough material by now for a new Pig EP, but I don't know if he'll ever put out another album. Another thing, I really wish haloblack's throb was on iTunes. edit: I'm beginning to think primitive race is some kinda ponzi scheme. I got my Dead When I Found Her mixtape today, and when I tossed it in one of my binders of things that will never see the light of day, I was reminded of another dumb trend from years back. Mini-cds. I remember having to burn these to CD-Rs so I could actually listen to them in my car.

This is a great Trent Reznor parody: https://soundcloud.com/fredscott-1/this-is-a-trent-reznor-song (thanks het for linking me). Also ran into it on Daniel Myer's facebook page, and further down his page he apparently pissed off a lot of Nachtmahr fans by calling out Nachtmahr's nazi imagery in a magazine interview (apparently Daniel Myer is an irrelevant scenester whose opinion doesn't matter... and he's just jealous because he doesn't look good in uniform). "Nazi Imagery is a style if you don't like it turn the page. I admit Nazi's are bad; although; they look awesome while doing what they do" is the most conciliatory Nachtmahr fans get. (Link to original magazine article: http://is.gd/rrpIwY) Very amusing
