Pretty sure this is a product of Enhanced Better Sorting, which is excellent anyway.

Is there a mod out there that can bring health/mana/stamina potions more along the lines of The Witcher? Basically i'd like to instead of having a instant heal, rather have a potion that gives me a small heal over time for maybe a couple of minutes instead. I found some mods that were on the right track, but the duration was only from like 5 seconds to 25 seconds.

In addition to what others wrote above, you can look at the value of the book when you target it, if it is worth 50 or more it usually is a skillboosting book, at least from what i have found. I am only going by own experience though. It was like this in Morrowind and Oblivion too. Of course it could be just a coincidence, and maybe i have missed out on tons of skillpoints over the years from not reading all those cheap books!

Gives a slight glowy overlay to any book you've never read before. Spell books glow green, skill books glow red, normal books glow blue. As soon as you read them, all copies of them won't have the overlay again. Helps a lot for people who like to collect one of each book (me).

Only books worth more than average give skill ups so it's easy to tell which ones will by glancing at price. There's also a mod Unread Books Glow which will make skill books glow bright red. Change bUseSkillExpGainMults to 1 and then change all the fSkillName values under [SkillGainExpMults] to whatever you want. Or if you want early leveling to be normal speed up to say level 10 and then slow down you can set bUsePCLevelSkillExpMults=1 add the line 10=0.75 after every skill in [SkillExpGainMults\SKILL] so that it looks like e.g. [SkillExpGainMults\Alchemy] 1=1.0 10=0.75 [SkillExpGainMults\Alteration] 1=1.0 10=0.75 and so on. edit: this apparently is based on the level of the skill, you need bUsePCLevelNotBaseSkillLevel=1 to use character level not character skill level. Better Skill and Quest Books was made for the small default font of SkyUI, putting the skill at the beginning of the title where it's easiest to see. It'll read like this: (Speech) A Dance in Fire, Vol. 6 (Two-Handed) Words and Philosophy (Map Markers) Daynas Valen's Notes (Quest) The Legend of Red Eagle (Quest) Lost Legends etc.

I just reinstalled Skyrim because I'm in the mood for a ~*magical adventure*~. I really don't ever want to deal with Draugr tombs again, though, so I'm trying to find some good quest/dungeon/general activity mods to keep me occupied. Aesir Armor is a cool armor mod that includes a really long dungeon/quest to obtain. It was like two plus hours of content when I did it on my last character. Really cool encounter at the end too.

Thanks for the help on my earlier request, though I've run into something a bit more show-stopping. Even when running from a completely clean install, with no mods running at all, I can't load up saved games. I've deleted everything in the My Games/Skyrim folder, including the old Saves folder, yet the game thinks I have an improbably large number of saves it seems. Each individual save has the same number assigned to it. I assume I've bumped up against a limit of some sort. I remember the save games looking different ingame too - shouldn't it have a location etc? Any ideas anyone? I'm completely stumped. The game runs normally otherwise - I can run around just fine, leaving and entering areas etc. When I attempt to load, the game doesn't crash or anything. I just get the white smoke effect and the music continues to play with no loading bar or hints displayed.

Picked this up when it was on sale on steam and I'm finally getting around to playing, I think I've mostly got it hammered into shape with mods. (I more or less followed the recomendations in the OPs of the thread, with some things that seem like things I used in both Oblivion and the Fallout games). Anyway, I had a couple of questions I was hoping to get some insight on: is there any particular order or time that it's best to do the DLC quests, and is there anything super cool I might grab for my character (i'm only level 10 so far, just went to find a Horn and found a Note instead)? My character is mostly a destruction mage, with a 2handed sword for backup and general , and even though it doesn't seem to matter much in Elder Scrolls games, I mostly use just robes/clothes rather than much armor. So, particularly neat greatswords and/or clothing and items that are good for an unarmored character.

That other one is for how much a skill point influences your overall level. a kitten posted:is there any particular order or time that it's best to do the DLC quests Not really. Dawnguard can be approached whenever you feel like it really, though Dragonborn's content can be pretty tough at lower levels. I think a couple lines in Dragonborn also change if you've completed the main quest first.

Well, I started playing through Falskaar. So far, it's better than Beyond Boulder Dome (which is my low-bar for large mods, seriously gently caress BBD*) and my only complaint so far my only... issue... is that the old man who starts the quest (in Riften) sounds like Coiley the Spring Sprite. * Falskaar actually lets me go back to Skyrim when I need a break, automatically putting it way ahead of BBD.

Yes, that's what I meant by local files verified, sorry. It happens on new characters as well as previous saves. It can be crates, corpses, anything that's a container, and it seems to be 100% crash rate. I fixed it by installing all of my mods manually, instead of having MO install half of them and having the load order weird even after BOSS. Now, SKYui isn't working because it's missing Interface files (error code 5), but I don't know how to get them back. Oh well. Bottom Liner fucked around with this message at 04:53 on Jan 12, 2014 |

So I just started a new character and came across a silly but annoying glitch. I started a new character using Alternate Start and landed in Solitude. I decide to take the path down south and I encounter a bandit leader. I throw some flames his way but he was way too much hp and I have far too little mana, not to mention he can kill me in one hit. I run back to solitude past a group of guards escorting a storm cloak and they all look gawk at the bandit chasing me and say "Somebody do something!". I say gently caress this and run all the way back to solitude and enter the city. The bandit follows me so I keep running only to find that the city guards are also spectating the chase. The main mods I'm running are: SkyRe Deadly Dragons/Monsters Frostfall Immersive Patrols Populated Lands Roads Paths ASIS Any idea what's causing the guard AI to be pacifists? I am only a level 1 character who just started this character...

I'm a big dumb computer baby and I need help installing BOSS and Wrye Bash. I'm trying to find a way to get it onto ModOrganizer--is that correct? If you open MO, there's a big dropdown menu in the upper right. If BOSS isn't listed in that list, select "<Edit...>". Point the "Binary" line to BOSS' executable, type "BOSS" under "Title" and hit "Add" followed by "Ok". Now BOSS should be in that dropdown menu, select it and then click on "Run". WryeBash can be added to MO in the same way. Axeface posted:I'm also having a run at SkyUI, and now having difficulties with that as well. Apparently my SKSE scripts are missing. Yipe. Secondly, are you booting the game via skse_loader.exe? If you're using MO, you'll need to launch the skse executable through MO. See above on how to add skse_loader.exe to MO if MO doesn't find it on it's own even if you've installed skse correctly.
