I will point out that I liked the resolution of the second season FAR more than most other people do, mainly because it's pretty easy for me to put things like "logic" aside. What's never in dispute, though, is they rope in some amazing talent willing to chew the scenery like it was a fat piece of jerky. If nothing else you'll get a kick out of them.

Eagleheart Season 3 was incredible. I'm so glad that they went with an actual storyline this season. Chris Elliott is a mad genius.

According to my calculations out of the 21 films he has directed so far, only 2 or 3 I would consider to not be good movies with the rest being good to excellent. He's one of the most consistent high-profile directors in terms of quality and career longevity out there.

The reason to watch it is really the seasonal villains. The first season has Ted Danson (and actually he's got a lesser role in season 2 as well) Zeljko Ivanek and Peter Riegert, the second season has William Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden, Clarke Peters, and John Doman. season 3 is probably peak Damages, and has Campbell Scott, Lily Tomlin, and Martin Short. season four has John Goodman and Dylan Baker (who is phenomenal, probably the best villain on the show other than Patty). Haven't seen season five.

The great thing about it is that if each "Part" was supposed to be a week then it really did come to about 15 years. The payoff to all the earlier bits about the badge seeking bullets and "lag" were great too.

I'm hip deep in season two and I'm loving that as well. Love how much they commit to their insanity. Speaking of things I come to lately, Portlandia. Surprisingly great! Thought it'd rely on stupid hipster tropes, but its got some really funny/smart things to say.

I actually started the second season of Eagleheart tonight too. This show does being loving nuts way better than Childrens Hospital or NTSF. That episode with the bezoar, man. Can't wait to watch the whole season 3 arc.

The only way the Dexter spin-off would be any good and not be Dexter Season 9: Sorry Guys But We're Back is if they literally did the entire trajectory of Dexter in reverse, so it begins with lumberjack Dexter being spit out of hurricane and washing up on shore in Miami.

Your HBO GO login is your cable login, so if you're giving that up it's likely to someone you really trust. B.) Because you log in through your cable provider, there's nothing HBO could really do about it even if they wanted to. At the end of the day, a compromised cable login is really not their problem, especially since C.) A web hit is a web hit, regardless of where it's coming from. The more exposure their shows get, the better.

I've not watched Dexter since Season 2, but maybe they'll flip it around where he's using his skills as a forensic scientist in secret rather than his skills at killing. Something where there's a murder or a series of murders where he's living now and he's trying to piece together the whodunit without his previous unlimited police department resources to do the heavy lifting for him or exposing who he is or what he's doing. Season finale is him finally figuring out the identity of the killer and he can't decide to feed evidence to the police to arrest them or kill them, himself.

I like my idea better. Like, imagine the pilot of Dexter - complete with melodramatic voiceovers - except instead of killing a child molester or whatever, he kills a tree. That's good tv.

I'm binging Season 6 of Mad Men to get caught up for Season 7, and I just had a thought. I don't find the "60s housewife" look attractive at all. Especially not Sylvia. Good god, the actress is in her late 30s, but that costume design adds 15 years.

Fourth season is very good, the main problem is since the show moved to DirectTV, it looks noticeably cheaper/sparser. Fifth and final season was pretty bad. The main problem with the show is that it had a "one big storyline per season" style, but then the first season had too much good stuff and was a bit open-ended so they awkwardly continued its storyline along with the new "season" storylines and so it got a little messy. The show was pretty much wrapped up by S3 finale, it got revived by DirecTV for a fourth season which ended up being really good since it was a new start, and then the final season was terrible because the "season" plot was mostly an afterthought and the production quality started to get pretty embarrassing. What the hell. I'm a big fan of Damages and I had no clue there was a 5th season. I thought the production values were already poo poo in season 4 where "Afghanistan" looked like some dude's backyard. e: Ugh, and it looks like it's some Julian Assange thing. I think it's less that the pilot was bad and more just that the production was hosed. There were major behind the scenes issues so I just think that Showtime cut their losses. They'd have to find a new showrunner for a start and it's easy to see why they'd rather just not bother. I get the feeling the pilot was finished out of contractual obligation but it was probably never going to get picked up.
