But it's my understanding that with a bigger screen and only one lightpack you want farther distance from the wall than specified. Like I mentioned before, their calculator said I was good at my 13" distance with 55". Yep, that's precisely it. After removing my TV from the crappy wall mount I had set up, Lightpack works beautifully. All I had to do was tinker the values slightly (blue and green needed to be swapped on the boblight configuration) and adjust the orientation of each of the LEDs for vertical and horizontal alignment. Now, it works wonderfully.

Verify that you're added sources in XBMC match where your contents are. I'm seeing a lot of "ERROR: XFILE::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting include", in which it's looking for a folder named "include" that it can't find, which isn't even a full path. Not sure if it's related to your issue though, but I don't see it looking for any other normal video source directory. Also, I see you have the XBMCHub Wizard. I haven't used it personally, but the general consensus is that it will gently caress up XBMC in unpredictable ways. You may want to try a fresh install of XBMC without it.

I actually just installed the XBMCHub Wizard by accident when I was trying to install the XBMC Log Uploader, so it's not that. There are sources in XBMC where my content is. My XBMC was running smoothly before it just stopped. The old files are there in the library and I can still watch them. I can also navigate through the XBMC file browser to the new files and play them there.

Do these folders have new episodes that aren't importing? What does your directory/file naming structure look like for new, unimported files directly in your file manager? There are about 120 different shows it should be scanning, each in a different directory. New files look like: F:\Videos\TV\Shark Tank\Season 05\Shark Tank - 5x14 - January 17, 2014.mkv Edit: Update. When it rescanned my entire TV folder it scanned and added new files to the library. However, when I quit XBMC, put a new episode in one of the TV folders, and restarted it, it failed to add it on the start-up scan or on a manual scan. So clearly it can see and process the files fine, but something about the scanning for new files is busted. So it's the same problem except I have a newer library snapshot because it re-added the entire TV folder. Twiin fucked around with this message at 06:13 on Jan 22, 2014 |

I've got a Dell Vostro 220 with a Core 2 Duo sitting around that I think I'd like to turn into a XBMC box for the living room to replace my Western Digital Live. Apparently it's got Intel X4500HD for graphics and the XBMC does list this as supported. Will this setup be good enough to play 1080p content? Also I just realized that this PC doesn't have HDMI which I need for my plasma since all the cables I can fit are already hidden behind the wall. Pretty much any dedicated slim sized video card will work right? I'm trying to keep this relatively cheap. I think I will go with this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130592 visuvius fucked around with this message at 07:55 on Jan 22, 2014 |

Yeah this, keep in mind too the author sometimes has their own repo, its worth just tooling about the xbmc forums looking. On anther note I am tryng out gotham and the subtitle integration is a lot better IMO now. They took the subtitles addon and included much of it right into xbmc core. I had tried to use Plex full time for a month or so and just trying to get subtitles to work was a pain, so I am back to xbmc. Hopefully mediabrowser3 will start getting better support for xbmc. It doesn't seem like the xbmc cares about a server based model, but from testing out MB3 its pretty drat slick. e: just looked and I see the xbmc mb3 is in the official repo now: http://mediabrowser3.com/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-27-xbmb3c-the-mediabrowser-xbmc-addon-version-075-release/ kri kri fucked around with this message at 20:33 on Jan 22, 2014 |

You can use Plexbmc or the xbmcmb3 or whatever the gently caress its called so you get the benefits of xbmc. The nice thing about plexbmc is that you can use the built in xbmc subtitle addon, and the other cool stuff xbmc offers that plex client's don't. Plus if you are invested in Plex, you can use the plex server instead of running local xbmc clients or a mysql server. Mediabrowser has a windows client I think, but I would still prefer using xbmc so I could run openelec.

So my old desktop-turned-file server has a dead graphics card (most likely). I was looking at the NAS option, as it has 4 hard drive now, and yeesh they're more expensive than I thought. But I'm just wondering if there's a NAS that will also do SQL so I can make that my always-on XBMC storage/database. Otherwise this computer is getting a cheapy graphics card as the system is about 8 years old, and not worth trying to upgrade until I replace it.

IS there a way in XBMC to add and scan a movie folder, but hide it from the main Movies library? I have a bunch of old B&W and Horror movies that I want cover art and metadata for, but id rather not have them show up when wife/guests are browsing the library.

If your chosen skin allows for you to add playlists to the main menu then you could just set up a smart playlist to filter stuff out.

Smart Playlists are the best way to do this I think. This thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=98628 has some good information on how it works. Amber is a good skin that allows you to pin smart playlists to the home screen. I used it to separate my standup specials from my movies and its worked perfectly.

Presumably for the same reason you'd want metadata for anything else? For what it's worth, Adult scrapers suck in XBMC, but that's because there's no good data source.
