Can anyone tell me the difference between the wrapper and injector versions of ENB? I've tried both and it seems like the wrapper version is much slower than the injector version.

A crash at the main menu is generally caused by a missing master file or missing string file.

Do you have any of the water mods installed? Such as Pure Waters or W.A.T.E.R. You have to tick the compability patch in that case, vice versa if you ticked one of the patches without having one of those mods installed could also produce that bug.

Well, it finally happened. Modding Skyrim has made it into a few of my dreams. They tend to be very RPGish anyhow, but after updating Immersive Armors the other day I found myself going, "Sweet, some new drops on this dead guard". I'm not even actively playing Skyrim at the moment but am continuing to browse the thread for updates and such. I knew I'd go insane one day but I always thought it would be a little sexier than dream mods.

I'm like 99% sure no, but now that I'm at work and can't look at my load order I feel like I might have Pure Waters installed. I'll look into it.

Thanks much folks!

I got a problem of my own actually, i get one single severe framedrop each time i open/close a container and when i switch weapons/spells/abilities via hotkey's. Anyone know any usual suspects for this? I don't have any hotkey mods, any HD weapon textures or something that should influence this and it happened at a point where i had not installed any new mods.

V2 now with pants!

When you use those weather mods that cause cold weather to be harmful to the player, do they have an effect on NPCs as well? The idea of fighting a civil war with a bunch of Imperial soldiers dropping dead from exposure is kind of funny.

Frostfall has options to reduce NPC vision ranges in strong storms and other features, but I don't think any actually track temperature values for every single npc in the game the way they do for players. It waste a lot of resources and the AI wouldn't be able to understand it so everyone in the world that wasn't a blacksmith near a hot forge would drop dead in a few minutes.

In true Skyrim fashion i figure it out when i post for help ofcourse. I noticed that it happened even when i pressed hotkeys that did'nt have anything attached to them, and from there it was a pretty logical leap to look at Equipping Overhaul and the Geared Up feature. Everything fine again when i disable "Geared Up".

Gotta say tho, not really ready to give that up, it looks so cool. Gonna see if i can figure something out.

Does the Complete Crafting Overhaul do anything to overhaul the crafting menus beyond cleaning them up by removing entries you can't craft? I've been hoping to see a mod that just overhauls the abysmal crafting UI, e.g., so that you go to a smelter with 200 chunks of iron ore, and instead of clicking a few hundred times, you just mass convert them to ingots. That might be too low level for a mod, though. I always expected something like that to roll into SkyUI if it was possible.

Based on the description, I don't even want to bother fighting Nexus for a download, if Crafting Overhaul doesn't do something like that. I've already tweaked my game to make crafting trickier in some ways, and the mod doesn't sound like it would add anything I need.

And, yeah, I know you can just player.removeitem/additem in the console.

The SkyUI team have no interest in the crafting UI for some reason but an overhaul is possible. The UI is scaleform so its a flash / actionscript thing that's very different from other modding stuff which is why nobody has really done anything. I'm tempted to try something since crafting is so awful but my UI design skills are about as bad as you could imagine. If you're volunteering to do the layout I'd work on the coding.

I finally installed Frostfall and Basic Needs and I'm having a blast with a new survivalist type character, but I want more! Any other mods that work well for this type of gameplay? I have immersive creatures for a lot more creature diversity and density, so I'm looking for more stuff like that that makes the wilderness a bit more interesting/challenging.

Synthwave Crusader

IIRC the main reason the SkyUI team doesn't want to do the crafting menus is because they're more complex than the inventory/barter menus and would require a significant amount of work/testing to get it right. And that's for each specific menu (smithing, tempering, tanning, enchanting, alchemy, etc.) because each menu has different components.

Hunterborn is really good. It expands on hunting and butchering animals so that time passes, your skill can get you better qualities of pelt, you can harvest new alchemy ingredients like hearts, that sort of thing. It also adds a 'forage' power to hunt for edible mushrooms and whatever, and some crafting options for animal bones and stuff that you find. Fully compatible with Realistic Needs and Frostfall, I'm not sure about Basic Needs though.

I actually spoken a bit with the skyui and skse people about the crafting UI. They all share a single menu craftingmenu.as/.fla. They all share the same components and use the same hooks into the engine. The complexity would be if you wanted the new UI to work the same way but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which station the player used and handle each separately. Split the passed in info into whatever works best for that station (several could be lumped like armor and weapon tempering or tanning rack and smelter) do the UI and when the player makes a selection turn it to the same form vanilla uses and use the existing engine calls.

Nothing too complex but a lot of gruntwork and testing. The hard part is (from my perspective) coming up with really good designs for the various menus. If left to me it would end up looking like dwarf fortress.

The ENB effect on ram is different but also helpful. Vanilla skyrim keeps textures in both system ram and vram which is dumb since textures are only ever used in vram. Is there a way to tell ENB not to do this? I'm running with 24GB of RAM and 4GB of VRAM (on a laptop :smug:) and am more than happy to give Skyrim all the memory it can handle.

If your skyrim.esm is gone, try verifying your cache to reacquire it? I've never heard of that happening before.

I have Immersive Animations also, and remember having to go through quite a few mods and be meticulous in my install order to get everything to work right. I think it was something like: Realistic Force->FNIS->Immersive Animations->XPMS Skeleton->Dual Sheath Redux->DSRX Compatibility Patches->FNIS Generator Patch->DSRX Patch.

This might sound stupid but if you're just using the data browser in the Skyrim launcher I don't think Skyrim.esm shows up on the list. It didn't in mine anyhow.

Did you uninstall Mod Organizer before trying the manual way? You may be accidentally choosing one its profiles instead of the one in the Steam folder.

Also, you can just download the mod manually and manually add them to Mod Organizer or Nexus Mod Manager. The Nexus download thing is just a nice feature, not a necessity.

If you're having trouble sending Nexus link through Firefox, you may just want to troubleshoot that issue. Mod managers are just so convenient, so I can't imagine doing any modding for any Bethseda game newer than Morrowind without one. At least use Wrye Bash.

edit: guess my top advice wasn't needed, but still, mod managers are nice, friend

I used to have a major problem leaving dungeons or big homes where my FPS would be locked at 5 outside of my menu. A quick fix was going into the map which seemed to fix it upon leaving it.
