It's been linked before, but every once in a while when I need a laugh, I like to go watch Dean Ambrose as Dusty Rhodes as Keanu Reeves (at 3:58). It's wonderful.

Happy 72nd birthday to arguably the greatest promo guy ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F30t-weDqko Not only was he incredibly influential on future generations of pro wrestlers and MMA figters, but he himself took a promo tactic straight out of Gorgeous George's book: quote:During the early part of Ali's career, he built a reputation for predicting rounds in which he would finish opponents, often vowing to crawl across the ring or to leave the country if he lost the bout.[19] Ali admitted he adopted the latter practice from "Gorgeous" George Wagner, a popular professional wrestling champion in the Los Angeles area who drew thousands of fans to his matches as "the man you love to hate,". And yeah, MiSu's comedy matches are great, thanks for the link to one I haven't seen. Thauros fucked around with this message at 20:30 on Jan 17, 2014 |

He now says it was George again, but the evidence points to Blassie. Hmm.. interesting, thanks for the info. The wiki article on Gorgeous George makes a similar claim citing a SI article from 2005 that mentions a Blassie vs. George match. quote:Clay was already the Louisville Lip. But when he and George met at a Las Vegas radio station, the wrestler's gale-force trash talking blew the boxer's ears back. If he lost to Classy Freddie Blassie, George ranted, "I'll crawl across the ring and cut my hair off! But that's not gonna happen because I'm the greatest wrestler in the world!" At the match, Ali remembered later, "I saw 15,000 people comin' to see this man get beat. And his talking did it. I said, 'This is a gooood idea!'" In the locker room afterward the 46-year-old wrestler told the 19-year-old, "A lot of people will pay to see someone shut your mouth. So keep on bragging, keep on sassing and always be outrageous." Ali did. And so have generations of athletes since. Regardless, Ali certainly picked a good guy to listen to. Edit: Huh, I've never actually seen Ali vs. Inoki and I had no clue until now that Blassie actually managed Ali during the match. Thauros fucked around with this message at 04:09 on Jan 18, 2014 |

Botchamania put up a video called ManeuverMania 1994, which is an endless montage of Vince McMahon referring to moves as maneuvers. As you can guess, it gets very old very fast and isn't worth your time. That is, except the first 35 seconds. I don't know what made me laugh more: realizing the gag he was going with for his intro theme or whatever the hell Savage is doing on that table.

Not as regularly as in Cardiff and Brum, but they do a fair few shows there Probably best to keep an eye here, they advertise well in advance https://www.facebook.com/?q=#/ATTACKprowrestling e: also Cardiff is a 45 min train journey from Bristol, and the shows finish early enough not to miss the last one back

Rick Derringer wrote Hulk Hogan's theme song in the early 80's after leaving his band. Strangely Rick Derringer is more resilient and relevant due to his undying ability to be mocked.
