Perspective distortion isn't barrel distortion. Unless your lens is parallel to the houses, you'll get convergence like that.

You don't need barrel distortion correction, you need vertical correction.

In the vein of black and whites, can I get some opinions on this? Particularly with the sky, I really hate that all that sun got in the top left corner but I'm not sure how to fix it and I'm not quite sure if I should make the sky brighter or darker.

Mathturbator posted:Very nice! The lighting is very nice and even, but the sky tells me that it was shot in bright daylight? How did you do that? I'm actually really chuffed with that picture because that is how it came out of the camera. It has a tiny little bit of sharpening in Lightroom but it could have done without it as well. I took that on manual shortly after starting to shoot on a DSLR two months ago though, and started learning Lightroom last week so I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "how I did it", but I will give you all the information I can. It was bright that day, in mid-late morning, and the lighting in general that day was pretty flat and boring. Other info is: Nikon D7000 w/ Sigma 10-20 mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM 1/250s f/5.0 @ 20 mm ISO 100 I guess how it came out like that was luck ?

The tree seems to have a pretty sharp shadow below the left side of the building, so I guess something is reflecting light onto the face. It looks like it would be pretty badly backlit otherwise.

The first one is great, the second one has some problems - clouds are too contrasty and there's too much noise going on. How did you PP these? Awesome location by the way.
