Gotta say, after powerleveling Oberon on Kiste this weekend, I don't think he's all that bad. Certainly not top tier, could be better, but it's not like Nekros or Damage 2.0 Banshee where I just can't bring myself to slot the frame and finish leveling him.

The chassis isn't something you equip, it's one of three components required to build the frame. You need to get the blueprints for the Rhino systems and the Rhino helmet and build those, then you can buy the Rhino blueprint for credits and build it by using the chassis, systems and helmet (which takes 72 hours).

The Chassis is just 1 of 3 parts you need, plus the overall blueprint, to build Rhino. Go get the Systems and Helmet, build those, then buy the BP in the store for credits under "Warframe Blueprints". Then you can build Rhino, and 3 days later, equip him and play as him! edit: beaten like a rented mule that hosed the farmer's wife and got bondage gear for christmas.

But let's back up to your unspoken point (crafting new Warframes). First off, to build any frame, you need to find the blueprints for and craft the corresponding Chassis, Systems, and Helmet. (So you're a third of the way there on that front.) Once they're built, you can use the blueprint for the frame itself (generally purchasable in the market for credits) to combine those pieces into the actual frame. You should not be paying platinum for frames like Rhino; that's a completely alternate method of getting the frame by effectively paying real money for it instead of in-game resources. (Check the OP for how to/how not to spend platinum.) Additionally, Rhino is the only frame locked by mastery if you build it the normal way. Don't worry about this too much; it only requires rank 2 and that's not hard to get if you're fully leveling two weapons and your frame first. (You get mastery XP by leveling equipment; every level on a weapon is +100 while every level on a frame/sentinel is +200.)

The thing that stops people from making the Rhino early on probably isn't the the mastery rank requirement but that control module necessary for making the systems. I know it did for me. I don't think I managed to get a control module until way into rank 3, maybe even 4. If you have trouble finding one, ask a guy in the clan to taxi you to a Europa, Neptune, or Orokin Void mission. Alternatively, just look around in the recruitment tab for people asking for people to join them in a T1 Void mission.

Doing a survival mission anywhere until the 15 minute mark (Apollodorus in Mercury is great for beginners) will net you a Void Key, then you do the mission and swim in Control Modules. I think getting Orokin Cells is actually harder since you need to get to Sargas Ruk in Saturn or get lucky with random drops. Control Modules were an issue when they only dropped from Hyena like 10% of the time, now they're extremely common if you just step into the void.

Yeah, the control module, neural sensor and probably plastids are all several planets away from where you start out so it takes a fair amount of time to collect all that poo poo for your first frame, at least if you don't get carried through for some of it. I had like 22 hours played before I finally was able to put my Rhino in the oven. Then the other frames all use pretty much the same mats so it's just a matter of farming zones you a'ready have access to. Plus those things start to just pile up once you're playing normally in the zones where they drop.

A Warframe consists of a chassis, systems, and helmet. You must build all three pieces then buy the warframe blueprint from the market to assemble the three pieces. It sounds like you've only built one piece. edit: hoo boy apparently the thread didn't refresh properly and I'm beaten like the Broncos

Control Modules were an issue when they only dropped from Hyena like 10% of the time, now they're extremely common if you just step into the void. Resource grinding is a whole lot loving easier than it used to be with the addition of Endless defense mission, Survival missions, the Void, Invasions and Derelicts. Neurodes (Common Invasion Reward), Control Modules (Drops in ridiculous amounts in the void), Gallium and Morphics (Both pretty common despite being a "rare" mat) are all pretty easy to come by. Neural Sensors aren't too bad because I think they drop in pairs (a least they did for me on Elara last night when I got two pickups of two). That leaves Orokin Cells as the king bitch for me if my whining over the last three pages is anything to go by. I've found that doing ODD/ODS/ODA missions are probably the best way to farm them. I've been totally hit or miss on doing survivals on Saturn and Ceres where I'll go 30-40 minutes and not get a single one. Interestingly enough I've had better success doing Saturn Defense missions than survival missions. I got three last night when I went to gently caress around with my new penta. Goons have told me that they are also an invasion reward so keep an eye out for them.

Neural sensors can drop as singles. They're more annoying for me to farm than Orokin cells, but you also use way less, so they're less of a problem overall. Tons of things use 10 cells, but I think the most sensors I've seen in a recipe is 2. Neural sensors are never invasion/infestation rewards, in spite of the lore saying they're from infested enemies. gently caress Saturn, make them a rare drop from every infested unit or something. Orokin cells are semi-frequently rewarded in sets of 3 from invasions. They also drop semi-rarely in ODD and decently frequently from Lephantis in ODA, in addition to Saturn/Ceres and various galaxy bosses. Insert name here posted:Vanguard helmet is better, but Thrak looks way cooler. I hope at some point DE lets us pick a helmet for stats and use a different one for looks. I know all the newer helmets are cosmetic only but that leaves the old legacy helmets in the dust. Yeah, I remember Rubedo and Alloy Plate being the old "bottleneck" uncommon resources. Like Control Modules however, the Void totally trivialized their farming process.

I was lucky enough to pull out 7 neural sensors from a 30 minute Elara run. Also a Charged Chamber, I guess. Then the "50+ wave ODD" turned into two people bailing at wave 20. Then the Stalker spawned on the other person and instantly killed them, but ate a death from my Penta before despawning and he dropped... Dread. However I got the Harvester today and it dropped both of the parts I needed for Detron so that's cooking. Elysiume posted:It takes total damage and adds a percent of that again as elemental damage. So a Braton dealing 6/6/6 (18) damage with a Serration at 105% on it bringing it to 13/13/13 (39) with a Stormbringer at 75% will add 39 * .75 = 30 electric damage. The math seems kind of wonky because I think it's rounding weirdly. The annoying thing is that all IPS (impact, puncture, slash) mods except for accelerated blast do NOT work this way. Instead, they go off of just that type of damage. So a Rupture mod at 30% on the same Braton will add only 13*0.30 = 3.9 damage. This is one of the reasons the IPS mods are totally useless.
