I'm fairly certain Rall's opinion was to either not vote or vote for Romney so things get so lovely and backwards that people rise up and revolt (with Rall as their glorious leader). It's a common suggestion that just coincidentally happens to be frequently made by white people with comfortable jobs that aren't really at risk if a Republican decides to gently caress over the country. EDIT: It was "don't vote."

Again, like half of the those seventy "armed agencies" keep around five officers to aid the Inspector General. To a section of the right-wing blogosphere, this means that the Library of Congress has drones ready to bomb our loyal Tea Party Patriots.

Wait, Muir didn't copy that from an actual armored postal vehicle? I think what he's saying might not be true. I'm going to google postal-tank and see what I find.

Of course Fish and Game and BLM are going to have armed officers, a huge part of their job is patrolling wide swaths of federal land making sure nothing illegal is happening. Are they supposed to bring people into custody backed up by only their winning personalities?

Gonna take a stab at the reality version of this, if the Library of Congress even was part of the 'mass ammo buy' it was like, what a box for their security guards' guns, and the rest of those 70 agencies are guys like ICE and ATF who, ya know, use bullets?

I don't get how Muir can go from wanking off to the military doing incredibly questionable things and getting a boner anytime mentions racially profiling Black/Middle Eastern/Mexican Americans, but then simultaneously be paranoid that these government agencies are "going too far" and becoming overly militarized.

A bunch of the federal regulatory agencies now have fairly extensive armed response units because they have to carry out enforcement actions, and for some reason, a lot of the people they have to deal with are rabid fringey anti-government nutcases. The FDA has a bunch of armed agents, basically swat teams, because they were getting inspectors shot at or just plain shot when they tried to get a factory to demonstrate they weren't putting growth hormone in protein shakes or what have you.

The Department of Energy runs nuclear facilities and you'd better believe the guards there are armed. This is like the blowup over how many rounds of ammunition the federal government was buying.

It's a reference (I think) to a proposed extension on the 'Working for Families' policy - People earning below a certain threshold receive government support (Usually cash) based on the number of children they have. The [L] fellah is some forgettable Labour (Leftish-wing party) shmuck, while the dude with an [N] and the jew nose is John Key, our right-wing Prime Minister and Nixon wannabe.
