Conquest power? Is that PvP reward stuff (sounds like PvP stuff).

If PvP is needed to do PvE raids, then guess I'll never raid. If it's just going to make getting there faster, then oh well, I'll be slow.

Yes. At level 60 you can do Conquest which is 3 factions fighting over stillmoor. Its loving stupid, but one of the benefits of doing it is "Conquest Power" which gives you buffs to AP/SP and Endurance outside of conquest. You need 180k CP to get all of the benefits, and you have to gain at least 1 point every week or it starts falling off very quickly.

It used to be every 2 days :smith:

You can manage with 0 conquest power, it's just a good chunk of free stats. It's also not strictly pvp, you can get conquest power by basically idling and moving your character once every so often and hiding that character in the out-of-the-zone area doing something else

Conquest isn't needed. Lycini and Torvan rep kind of is because their essences have endurance.

Runes, power/whet stones, and vials are just so little effort to get that if you don't have them people get worried that you're completely useless and will choke on your own keyboard mid raid.

Make sure you have 1 range DPS spec because sometimes you just have to be ranged. Necro is probably the easiest to pick up and most versatile to put out consistent numbers. Melee whatever harbinger 61 you like, not what you leveled with. The other specs are just options really.

And get 420 hit. Link to craftables to get there on first page of thread I think.

You can get buy with a Necro/Pyro/Warlock spec (each has its benefits but they're all ranged dps), maybe a Harb spec for bigger numbers/melee, a Chloro spec (either the Dom more-support or Necro bigger-numbers), Archon (so many variations you could probably use two), and maybe a Dom spec (for trash). The bare mininum I would say would be DPS of your choice, Chloro, and Archon. Harb is a good forth (especially for overworld stuff) and Dom for a fifth.

My Mage is only 32 and I've been having a blast in everything but Library with a basic Pyromancer build. There's some Stormcaller in there too but mostly all Pyro.

Basically just stand there and throw fireballs and toss out a Cinder Blast when the armor procs so it is free.

GENERAL
* Players can now see their fellow raid members that are stealthed.
* Fixed a rare mouselook bug that would randomly cause the camera to look straight up or straight down. Let's all share a moment of silence for the passing of this ancient bug that was older than the game itself.
* When a replacement is added to an LFG party, the vote-kick timer now resets for the group.
* Replacement members added to an LFG should always be able to use the "Enter Dungeon" dialog to teleport to the existing group, even if the replacement members were manually added.
* Joining an LFG group directly from warfronts will no longer rarely cause the user to get instantly booted from the group.
* Fixed an issue that caused mount ability buttons to sometimes not work.
* Killing creatures that award Torvan or Lycini notoriety now only do so if the mob grants XP.
* Reduced the frequency of the Sinister Tide and Invasive Species rifts.
* Added inexpensive lures to open the Sinister Tide and Invasive Species rifts.
* You can once again buy tradeskill extensions directly from trainer NPCs when attempting to train a new skill if you don't have enough slots.
* Facebook integration now works correctly once more.
* The Winter Homemaker achievement has had its text clarified.

* Wishlists now correctly update instantly if a player is viewing a friend's wishlist and an item is removed.

* Guild quests requiring killing of creatures 'of at least green difficulty' now work with player Mentoring.

* Increased the amount of healing and absorb reduction in PVP at level 60 to 58%.

no.
I just downloaded the game and know nothing about it other than that there are rifts in it.
When I create a character, after picking a class the 5-8 choices are like preset guides, not something that locks you into that certain build?

If I pick Virtuoso I can just change bard and whatever else to marksman, ranger and assassin on the soul tree and it would be like I never picked Virtuoso right?
If that is the case what are the differences in the locked builds?

What is a good solo class to play as to learn the game but still be useful later on?

The only decision you will make that has lasting consequences is class. At level 60 you will have at least 5 custom builds that you can swap anytime out of combat and as a rogue they could be anything from tank to dps to support. And yeah, that's just a template to help you along at the earlier levels. You can buy additional roles from your trainer, the first few are very cheap, and those are individual builds of 3 souls to swap between.

As for solo class, I would caution against mage unless you are going to purchase the storm legion souls. The mage SL soul is it's best solo'ing build by far. But all 4 are fine.

I haven't bought the storm legion souls and had no problems as a mage, levelled up as necro most the way, with chloro as my second role. Once you hit level 58-60 and go to the new Storm Legion content the Harbinger's usefulness will become apparent but until then leveling Necromancer is good. It pairs well with Elementalist since a lot of talents stack for pets.

I don't play anymore, but this is where I used to get a lot of Scarlet Reach artifacts:

A lot of them are on the high platforms, so you'll have to do some jumping to get to them. Then walk across the chains and you'll find even more. There was about 15-30 artifacts every time I went by there.

In general, artifacts don't appear to despawn ever, so they tend to accumulate at hard-to-find spawns and areas that don't see a lot of travel. Caves and areas with elite enemies, usually have several for that reason. Pretty much anywhere north of the mid-zone portal I forget the name of in MSHL will probably have a bunch too. The huge bridge and surrounding areas (i.e. on the rocks) in Shimmersand have a lot too.

I wish I could remember which zone the Rorf's poo poo dropped in though, because that's probably one of the more lucrative ones. Their drop rate is way out of line with their rarity class. I made a few hundred plat ditching Best In Slots that had ballooned in value.
