Kind of annoying really, but if this is legit, it's friggen worth it. I found a lot of stuff on there that I jumped on because I either could never find it at my local store or the price was too high for my taste otherwise.

Thanks for posting, ordered five albums in two shipments and was told they should arrive on the 26th. It can be overwhelming to go through, but if anyone is doubting it, I spent about $65 on five albums with shipping and taxes that would have cost $120 on Amazon. I understand the need to support local stores, but this is insanely good. As far as its length, I don't see anything that mentions the items being closeout or discounted other than a few with a strikethrough and a new price below in red. So maybe it's permanent. beergod posted:I'm not slurring the byrds. I'm reading the 33 1/3 book on the notorious Byrd brothers right now and wanted some opinions. I like the Byrds but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Gene Clark's solo stuff. If you can only get one, get No Other, one of the very best coked-out, self-indulgent records any singer/songwriter put out in the 70s (and there's plenty of competition for that particular title). It cost roughly one squillion dollars to make, got savagely buttfucked by critcs, sold like dogshit, ended up being deleted by Asylum within two years, and basically stomped out Clark's career as a major-label artist (he only released 5 more albums in the next decade and a half before dying). A sad story, one made a thousand times sadder by how much the album loving owns. It's only eight songs long, but those eight songs cover everything from this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akBZ7GW_VaE To this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDAYw-sWVg0 To this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvavhLZO2_0 It's just awesome. A+++++ million billion stars. Finding a good copy on vinyl can be tough since it sold so poorly when it was released, but 4 Men With Beards reissued it sometime in the last few years. (I scored my copy when I went into a beat-up little record store near my office to browse, spotted the reissue in the racks, and when I took it up to the counter the guy took one look and said "Oh wait, I think we've got an original" and brought back a pristine first pressing with the poster and everything. I nearly wet myself.) And I know it's heresy to say this in this thread, but the CD is actually pretty great too - not only does it have an amazing remaster of the album, but it comes with 8 or 9 bonus tracks (mostly alternate versions) which are almost uniformly worth your time. Also check out White Light, Gene Clark With The Gosdin Brothers, and So Rebellious A Lover, his duet LP with Carla Olsen; there are some really great songs on Two Sides To Every Story and Roadmaster, too. There's also a lot of contemporary stuff which can be traced back to Clark, which is to say "Listen to 'Roscoe' by Midlake right now if you like this stuff at all." After writing all of this it occurs to me that none of this sounds particularly like the Byrds, but whatever, people should still listen to Gene Clark.

I know that the stock updates on the site are true, as I bought the last copy of Last Night by Clint Mansell and now when I check it its backordered. Whats amazing is that it's even laid out by release date - gets pretty easy to browse once you figure out the nuances of the site, which admittedly is very poorly coded.
