I did two things tonight!

One, I finished up making my DW playbook look like a real playbook oh my god. Gnome if you could replace my old Stolen Link with this new one I'd very much obliged. I might try put it up on DTRPG now that it actually looks finished. Thanks to zarathud for creating that template!

Also, I noticed that ElegantFugue's Marksman didn't have a PDF version in the OP so I created one, I hope they don't mind.

1) It looks baller as hell and I think it fills a cool niche

2) Under Unerring Insight you misspelled deity, I think. Unless there's some issue with the scan or something, it 100% says "ceity".

Yeah, I'm not sure what is to blame for those slight issues but they aren't there in the draft, so I need to see if it's OpenWriter's fault, CutePDFs fault, or the fault of the merge tool (for merging the title page with the playbook pages). I'll look into it more when I get home tonight.

Staring at it for a bit, I think it's probably CutePDF that's borking it up. There are spots where it looks like the "d" becomes a "c", but I think it's just making the stalk of the "d" incredibly thin due to kerning or something. It looks like a "c", but you can kind of just barely see the line if you look really, really hard.

:iiam:

But that is, obviously, a very minor issue.

I've been trying to start a DW campaign with my RL group, and I thought it would be a neat idea to have everyone choose a class that wasn't in the core book, so I started compiling together all of the third-party playbooks into a Google doc with links to a preview version and a short description.

If anyone's interested, here it is.

I had a few guidelines when compiling it, mainly that the class in question was actually in playbook form (though some of the previews are plaintext) and "complete," so no missing advanced moves or looks. I think I've gotten all of the applicable playbooks from the OP, so now I'm going put in all of the Kickstarter classes next. If anyone has a use for it, great!

I still have to sit down and rewrite parts of the Punk after reading the Gallant (which owns), there are just way too many +damage and +forward moves.

I have some ideas in the pipe for other classes but I have to actually write them down too.

EDIT: Actually wow I apparently changed a lot about the Punk and forgot all about it. Not to derail the incredibly important massive list that's about to be formed, if I could get some critique on the new version before I put it into playbook format sometime that would rule.

I've got my first session of a new Dungeon World game coming up soon, so I wanted to ask you guys advice on what I could do to make sure that it goes well for everyone involved. I've read the "First Session" part of the rule-book a couple times, and made sure to not plan things out so much.

I've only got two players. One of them decided to play a good-aligned Necromancer (thanks to Shamblercow on that one) and the other one decided to run a normal Wizard. So the both of them are squishy, with no fighters or paladins or anything to protect them.

The Wizard's told me he was a circus wizard, and that was all I got from him before he signed off for the night. As for the necromancer, I got a ton of stuff on him. He was engaged to a girl from his village before a war broke out, and he was put into service as a grave digger. One day while he's digging a grave, he falls into a very large pit and a big bony hand catches him. He can't see what the hand's attached to in the darkness before it lifts him out of the pit. Then he runs back to his village.

In the village, a nobleman is holding a big party for everyone, including the character's fiancee, whose family are fallen nobles trying to get back into the good graces of the others. Unfortunately though, it turns out that the party was actually a giant ritual, and with the help of the town guard the nobleman sacrifices everyone to something undefined. The necromancer catches wind of this and tries to stop them with the help of one of the non-corrupt guards, but gets chased out of the village by superior forces.

So, having nowhere else to turn, he goes back to the giant skeleton in the pit and asks for necromancer wizard powers. The giant skeleton man accepts, but only on the condition that he puts to rest the souls of those who were sacrificed in the ritual. He accepts, and a necromancer is born.

That's it for the back-story, and it's great that he gave me that much. He also mentioned that the guardsman turned into a bandit, and I can use him/her as a friendly NPC.

My only plans for the session so far are that the both of them have signed up for an adventurer's guild, and to prove that they're worthy to be there, they're going to get airdropped from an airship into a nearby village to find out what happened to the last group of adventurers they sent there. It turns out that there was a swarm of Tirbana invading, which are D&D monster bugs that like to put people to sleep to lay eggs inside them or something. My only other idea was that a siege beetle would come stomping out of the nearby woods, covered in arrows and spears, having been driven off of its land. While the monster would probably be too much for the two players to take on, the bandit NPC would show up with some of his friends to drive it back, having come to check out what happened to the village as well.

So, am I planning too much? Too little? Is there any advice you guys could give me for my first session?

Yeah, do be sure that the books you add to a compilation are finished and that they're free, adding someone's for-pay playbooks to a free compilation by accident would be kinda a dick move.

Yeah, totally. I made this as a "for goon's eyes only" kinda thing, since some people (like Rulebook Heavily) have made his stuff pretty much free for goons while also selling them. I just want people to be able to get a taste of what they'd be getting if they do decide to buy it.

EDIT: But yeah, I definitely do not condone pirating people's playbooks so you can save $2-3. C'mon now.

And by that you mean not as bad as The vanilla Paladin? Nearly every 6-10 required one and exactly one 1-5. And nearly all of those just gave +numbers to a base move. Very low-effort.
