Hey fellas, I have a "pay what you want" release that came out today. Somewhat darker techno with a bit of an industrial edge. Feel free to take a listen if you are so inclined!

Anyone know where I can find the tracklists for the original "4" mixes by JZ? It's too generic of a search to find them with google.

Funny we all three live in Miami... I was actually at the Diynamic showcase too but it was so loving crowded that it was not enjoyable at all.

I only have tix for Enter so far, not really doing it big this year, did that for the past 4 years.

If you're in NYC next thursday go see Bee Mask. Heavily recommending. Also, avoid halcyon - maybe. I mean, it doesn't hurt to stop by, but they definitely charge more than necessary on anything that they don't distribute. Try Heaven Street in Brooklyn. It's mainly a metal shop, but there are a lot of really good techno records. My favorite shop out of all of the NYC shops.

Went to see how much it would cost to get a copy of this... $100. Limited vinyl only releases are the worst. Guess it's not as bad as Feed Forward, ugh.

Haven't been in a few years but I am tempted to go this year. The lineup is looking good already. Who would have thought it would be hard to find a hotel room in downtown Detroit?

Well it makes a good enough bit of sense since the city is a depressing burnt out husk except for like 4 square blocks.

I'm locked in. When I say i'm locked in, a crew is locked in and we block booked 14 rooms and a suite at the marriott before Christmas.
It's going to be a complete shambles and I wouldn't have it any other way.

e: check on priceline, a few of our group missed out on rooms and are staying at the Westin at $107 a night. look on priceline for Downtown, 4star, indoor pool pulls it up as the only result. not sure if it's still available though.

AKP - look for parties on RA that say 'secret location' & add yourself to the rsvp list/try and get the address. you may get id'd, but you may not and could pay on the door. if it gets raided the police will be too busy trying to get everyone out without a riot to check id.

Might do Movement too. Depends on the taxman.

breaks
May 12, 2001

Wow, $107 at the downtown Westin is a crazy good price, the VIP ticket block of rooms there was $200+tax/night.

I ended up staying a couple miles away, but the place has a shuttle that will take you down to Hart Plaza, and I managed to swing the flights, 4 night stay, and ticket for under a grand, pretty pleased about that.

drat man i was looking to get a trip done for less than 500. I suppose I could field it if I went with train / bus fare instead of plane. I've never done a big festival before what should I expect for the price to party? My only friend from detroit is from the suburbs and cant relate to me what the prices for a night out on the town + fun costs.

breaks
May 12, 2001

Eh, bear in mind we're coming from halfway across the country, got VIP tix, there for 4 nights, and I got my own room. Don't VIP, stay 2 or 3 nights and split it with someone, maybe you don't have to travel as far, it can easily cost less. This is my first year to go so I'm not too sure on the prices. My friends who went last year said they had no trouble finding whatever party favors they wanted, not my bag these days so I didn't really get details. Food and beer they said was typical festival price (that is, expensive), so think like $6 for a normal size beer and so on. I think they went to several of the major afterparties at The Works etc, which were $20-$30ish each? Someone who was there last year can probably give you a better idea though.

Went last year. VIP is well worth the money this time around for me because the price differential against GA works out in favor of having access to the shuttle and drink tickets versus paying for drinks/taxi separately.

Last year, my group rented a car (free parking) and hotel room and those got split up 3 ways. This time, no rental car since we have two rooms, and one room is gonna have a carload of people driving from out of town. One thing to also factor is transportation to/from the airport, and this year, using a taxi should be cheaper than car rental because we're staying at a hotel that charges for parking.

Net expense per person for room/transportation (this is without factoring each person's airfare/taxis to after parties) was roughly $330 a person. Probably spent about $20-30 a day on food/booze.
