I'd like to see them mix up the challenges with a bit more fun stuff like that time the contestants applied make up to themselves and had to serve family members in a shop without being recognised.
I just watched that one, during my season 1 rewatch. I think it suffered a bit from having to be judged on video. And that the challenge goal seemed to be "who can best fool their relatives" when that's not what they were judged on. Also the makeups were all pretty terrible, and that was the challenge right before the finale that season.

In general, it seemed like the first season showed that people are good at creatures and crazy molds, and bad at realistic makeup, so they made future challenges play into that.

I think that challenge would have been better if they'd been paired off (I guess move it back an episode so there's an even number of people) and did the concealment job on each other. I get that they all sort of went with a "how can I make myself as ugly as possible?" route, except Sam I think, because they thought that the easiest way to be unrecognizable is to make people not want to look at them. But we ended up with a shop staffed entirely by trolls, and also "Hey, it's Pat!" Sam I suppose.

And Megan with glasses, but the less said about her the better.

Gage turned himself into a fat black woman, which was kind of weird, and Megan's mom had to pretend not to recognize her. I think the latter is too funny not to mention occasionally.

I couldn't even force myself to not laugh every time I saw those fur pants. They could have gone with the Gray alien ripoff, the scaly dog, something, but not furry pants.

Apparently following Daran's lead is a huge gamble. It worked in the Guitar Gods challenge, but he's been off the mark ever since. I wonder how much longer he'll last, now that we've gotten rid of most of the deadwood.

I'd say Corrine over Chloe. Corrine's been more consistent, and Chloe seems to get...stressed out? It's hard to tell, but there have been some moments where she looks like she just doesn't want to be in the competition at all.

The Jersey Devil was an odd one. All the characteristics that make a recognizable Jersey Devil -- the goat/horse face, the long neck, skinny legs, etc. -- don't fit that well on a human body. But at the same time, you'd think they could have come up with something more interesting than a horned woman in a dress.

Also, Doug Jones is a classy, classy dude.

I think Corrine sandbagged Matt. We've seen she generally makes really good design choices, why was she so off on something like this? Darran generally makes weird choices and I still don't know why he won that time.

I think she was letting Matt do whatever he wanted because she didn't have to worry about being eliminated. She didn't have to push for good design choices and I'm pretty sure she avoids confrontation. She tends not to go as elaborate as everyone else in the first place, too, since her paint jobs tend to put her in the safe group at worst.

Matt's pretty consistently sucked.

The expression on that thing is almost as bad as the titty headed thing from the first episode. Why the gently caress do people keep painting their models' noses black? Is there some sort of live-action Bosko and Honey remake coming out soon that I don't know about that everyone's trying to get in on?

I felt the same way watching last night. Anytime they focused on their group she just never put out anything that made me think she cared. And honestly, given the conversation that kicked off the show, I wouldn't put it past her to try and protect Cat by passively sabatoging her own makeup. It's pretty apparent that even though they're caught up in their own work, every contestant is very aware of how things are going for everyone else at any given time.

I really wish that shows would forego immunity in cases where the end product is just so loving horrible and lazy that it was clear that the person was riding on immunity. Immunity doesn't mean Yay I don't have to do poo poo next challenge. It's for when something horrible happens like something breaks or you get food poisoning.

Never ignore Michael Westmore. Have they not seen the show before? He gives a suggestion, don't think you know better.

The cream is rising to the top. Sad to see that Rashaad can't handle a simple minimalist makeup, but hopefully this just means he makes bigger and badder makeups for the rest of the season.

I wish that Tyler wasn't so grating and punchable, because his stuff is pretty good but I just can not stand him.

Also when the heck are they gonna use the save on a artist. I feel like either it never gets used or they use it on Corrine or Tyler if they have a major gently caress up. Probably on the challenge next week, feel like it will stump some of them.
