I feel like this was a really sudden shift, as though there's a page missing between this one and the previous. There's some serious emotional whiplash between the end of Wednesday's strip and the start of this one.

Hmm, Annie's blank expression in the fourth panel, combined with her formal speech suggests to me she's in emotional lockdown again. That's not healthy, she really needs an outlet. Maybe another trip to Fun City would help? Torch some fools then offer to help them, it certainly seemed to put her in a good mood last time.
