I think it says "...But between you and me, I'd invest in a deadbolt! Rumor is, out in the Stillwood, a guy was murdered a couple".

A French skeleton like Cadavre would call Time a "he", not a "she". (I guess it's like pseudo German where every article is just "die" because it's easier than to try to get der/die/das+declensions right).

Broodhollow's plot speed is either broodingly slow (most of the time) or extremely fast (climax of a story). I'd say the aim is to make it seem like there's a looming threat that something could unfold suddenly at any moment, but for now it's quiet, too quiet.

I would say that Straub's dramatic timing is just about pitch-perfect so far in this comic :unsmigghh:

I don't know. If I knew I was dreaming while following a blood trail while being as paranoid as Mr. Zane, I'd imagine myself some Space Marine power armour.

I see.

There's no way this is going to end up helping him. Either he forgets enough of it to make it useless by the time he wakes up, or it doesn't make sense outside of dreams.

Alternatively: Those symbols he's writing down are somehow related to the Angleworms, and remembering it will cause them to appear.

If you mean the pattern Zane always talks about, it's just the manifestation of his OCD.

I've been a fan of Kris Straub's work ever since F Chords, and it's insane to see how good he's gotten as an artist. That's an exciting thing about webcomics, even though it is mostly amateur hour, watching someone gradually get better is really awesome.

Its not JUST a manifestation of his OCD: making sure everything was shut actually did keep Maddie away.

That's the genesis of this thing. When you have OCD, you know that something horrible is going to happen if you don't do what you need to, even if you know that's not actually the case. But what if it was true
