Hey, just on the slavery thing: Shouldn't Haiti get the honor of abolishing it first, at least in the western hemisphere? I hardly see how the US should get that (even in the institutional chattel sense), since they only got to more or less abolish it for good because they maintained it far longer than anyone else.

We beat Brazil (abolished in 1888) by a few decades. In fact, some die-hard Confederates left the States after the Civil War and moved to Brazil specifically because they still allowed slavery. IIRC, their descendants still have a "Dixie Days" celebration every year.

Colorado has turned blue but would have little power within a Red States of America. I�d keep West Virginia and reattach it to most of Virginia, minus the DC suburbs. Funny thing is that they did exactly what Lincoln was hoping for- he wanted the Confederate leadership to leave and take as many troublemakers with them as possible. They were better as a hopeless government-in-exile then martyrs.
