Whew that's what I thought but that last comment made me question it. It's okay for an away kit.

Hyundai, Samsung and Lotte own the entire country of South Korea. It's a little jarring at first to see apartment buildings with Samsung written on the side, but you get used to it!

It has something to do with the way the government encouraged company growth post war, giving subsidies to companies that were bigger than their competition or something. Oldman can explain it better than me I'm sure.

Yeah, the modernization of Korea came through top down economics (none of this "free market" bullshit) and there are several very, very large companies that engage in a lot of different industries. Samsung, Hyundai, LG and Lotte are the largest, but there are others ranging in size. It was jarring for me the first time, and I felt like I was living in a cyberpunk world but I got used to it. Officially the different branches of the companies are separate entities, but much in the wink, wink, nudgenudge kind of way. So Samsung real estate is separate from Samsung hotels which is separate from Samsung automobiles which is separate from Samsung Life insurance which is separate from Samsung Fire and Marine insurance which is separate from Samsung amusement parks which is separate from Samsung electronics and so on.

So yeah, they have a lot of money to throw around, so they spend it on sports teams, hospitals and universities.

...and some of them are still run/headed by single families. It's interesting and really kinda gross all at the same time. At least in Japan they have the politeness to actually be separate companies :v:

Probably not real of course but if so, I like that the Away has been inspired by Christmas wrapping paper, traditionally the peak time of Liverpool boom-bust.

The 3rd is decent; does it really have lateral stripes going across it too or is my monitor just messing with my eyes?
