Well it's a good thing I remembered to take pictures of my Completed Oath My little bones experiment has shown me to prime my stuff in Gesso (as usual) for best results compared to spray paint or bare bones. But I really didn't think how to paint them past priming so decided I'd test a few Deadzone schemes. Thinking Going darker on the middle guy for some red/black-ish Enforcers. Marauder Orx get the camo treatment, possibly including face paint. And some dirty browns n' yellows for the Rebs. Still have to think of something for my Plague troops...

Oath Complete! These are my diorama and my display board. The display board is meant to resemble a sand garden like the one I used to have on my desk, and to act as a continuation of the sand patterns on the bases. This is set up to fit the contents of the Misaki boxset from Malifaux; I haven't assembled the other two ninjas or Ototo yet. This is the biggest "miniature" I've ever painted! Luckily it will fit in my display cupboard (which is half full of teapots...) Cthulu here was a continual lesson in painting Bones. For example, the artists acrylic that I used as my grey basecoat never seemed to dry, so I just put my many washes and then highlights over the tacky mess. The 'mat' spray I used seems to have stabilised it, even if it is a bit more shiny than I'd like. My boyfriend is amazed that Cthulu is "looking right at him!" I built the cliffs out of styrofoam, then covered them with craft glue and sand. When I spray painted it, I discovered that I had not been as diligent with the glue as I should have been, so I got all these nice melty cavern bits. The water effects were done following the tutorial by Red Shoe from the modelling thread. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out for my first time. For my Jurnal entry, I used HUGH as one of the glowing inscriptions. My boyfriend was pleased that his name was being used in the summoning. Unfortunately the water effect foam turned out more opaque than I expected, so all you can see is HU.

Is there an end-of-year prize for smallest, most pathetic oath? Shamefully, OATH COMPLETE Claiming I rolled a 6 because it's a Sedition Wars objective marker (replaces the computer access terminal token). The Detektiv's Jurnal is the trollface on the screen. While I'm at it, I may as well milk my pathetic offering this month for a bit more and Strike a Pose with my Nomad Tomcat from an earlier Oath Gaining access to the terminal had been no mean feat. Being launched from a shuttle from over 300 miles away while wearing nothing but a vacuum suit was easy enough. Getting access to the interior of the shuttle was readily accomplished with a small plasma cutter carried on the Tomcat’s toolbelt. The main difficult was getting through the console’s security system. Still, if the information was correct, she knew it would be worth it. The Nomad Nation would have what it needed. Before long, she would be looking at the true face of ALEPH.

Oath Complete! Jurnal is the Mystery Machine Inquisitorial Rhino. Backstory posted:Princeps Generico signaled his Moderati to fire another burst from the Vulcan Megabolter while backpedaling the Active Reconnaissance behind the crumbling edifice of a damaged refinery. The twisted forces of Chaos were proving difficult to defeat, and one of his packmates had already been destroyed. Driven by some fell will, the creature had smashed its way into the planetary capital and laid waste to most of the infrastructure. Though the casualty lists were extensive, the disappearance of the Governor's daughter was still notable, as some blurry pict images suggest she may have been captured. moths posted:I'd also like to replace my previous Get Based Out entry with this month's bases. They were a lot more effort and I think they look superior. Plus, that's the actual right font for German street signs in 1945. As far as I can tell, you did not have a previous get based out entry. You do have a previous Diorama entry, so maybe that's what you were thinking of. Either way, this is in for your GBO now. LazyAngel posted:Oath Complete! One of your Flickr images is not loading. Generally Flickr isn't great for SA photos, due to bandwidth limits and stuff, although I know they use it in the Dorkroom sometimes. I recommend Imgur.

OATH COMPLETE! Detectuv's Jurnal, Fly your flag, and I rolled a 6! Doublesided tokens for Scrap/corpse/scheme in Malifaux. In keeping with my freikorps theme, Johnny joins as a regular soldier. The specialist, well... After the great PDF codex layoff some battle sisters turned to mercenary work. Flag based on the freikorps lightning bolt mixed into the Order of Our Martyred Lady and her colour scheme matches the order's as well. I was wondering if it would be alright to merge the related models images into a single photo for the next time as well, just to reduce the total number of images or if this works well enough as it is.

Oath Complete Jurnal is this guy, a tribute to eccentric hero Mad Jack Churchill, who charged into battle in WW2 with a claymore sword and a longbow. As far as I know, Churchill didn't fight in a kilt. Still, he was an enthusiastic bagpiper and transferred to a Highland regiment, so maybe he sometimes did. The tartan is based on that of another peculiar pipe-loving British officer, Lord Lovat. Galaspar fucked around with this message at 00:57 on Mar 1, 2014 |

Of course, you can always do a previous month's Jurnal instead but you'll get just a single point for doing that instead of earning the full 2 points for doing this month's Jurnal. That's it! Brushes Down! Now taking March oaths, but, stand by to find out this month's Theme. Also, just two months left in the Oath Year, so if you have bonus point things you haven't done yet and want them points, probably should think about that while deciding what to oath. E. Oh yeah, also, as always please Check the Spreadsheet to make sure I got everything right! I usually miss something so just do it. I'll be doing prize drawings no earlier than Monday. Yea for conversions! A good excuse to finally paint this thing. I Germ, being of twisted mind, and delectable body, do hearby oath for the month of March this converted 28 mm 40k Heldrake, inspired by Buffalo Chicken, with parts by Games Workshop and Forge World (or possibly some Eastern European or Chinese recasters - it was pretty cheap on eBay), and a base by Worldsmith Industries (aka, me). Here are some better shots, so that hopefully this can count as the before shots for a conversion? I built it months ago, but I'm hoping the work I put into it is fairly obvious. Labeled parts. From the top.

Is it too early for the oathing? It's March in UTC land, wherever that is, so I'm gonna do it! I Haydrian do Oath for the month of March six Reaper Bones miniatures 'cause I'm loving sick of painting orks and tau! But that guy in the middle, the one with the swords? He's definitely getting a proppa Orky head! And some 'Ard Boy armor, and a slugga, and a bosspole, when he's done he'll be a right an proppa Nob! Pre-painting conversion shots to follow, of course...
