Ouch. I had some trouble, but not that much. The key is that you can actually spit it infinitely by tapping the button.

You can also get the slightly bigger guys, but anything beyond the first two enemy types you fought in the first mission are unrecruitable. ...I kinda hope i'm proven wrong.

I wanna say you could recruit the guys in the space ships if you knocked em around without killing them but i'm probably mistaken.

Yeah, the platforming segment with the drills was really bad. I still don't fully understand how you're supposed to do it without getting hit.

There is no C. ;)

And you found Naginata hard to draw? It's a lot simpler than the Crossbow. Heck it's easier to draw than the Claws.

Claws is stupid easy to draw. Push up for a second, right for a second, and then up again. Hold the last up if you want big claws.

The only issue I had with the crossbow is how the confirmation for having drawn it right is barely a lighter shade of pink than the whip, so it can be hard to tell if the game is actually seeing a heart or just a really curvy line.

World 8: Touch special points in the pyramid 5 times, with no indication where the points are.
World 9: See above, only this time they're scattered throughout the entire level and not in one medium sized area.
World 12: Good luck finding the slide on purpose without a guide.
World 13: They sure like that secret points gimmick, don't they?

A good half the worlds have stars I would consider "bullshit without a guide" level, and that's not counting castle secret stars or the fact that at least half the levels are just situated over a giant bottomless pit for no adequate reason.

The first bit I'll admit I didn't think through, but the second bit is just the biggest examples I can think of where the game says "good luck, fucker!" There's plenty more that I can't think of because I haven't really played Mario 64 since the DS remake was new.

Keep in mind I'm also the weirdo who hates Majora's Mask, so my tastes in video games may very well be poo poo.

You know, it used to be that if someone knew they were missing something in a game, they would spend a lot of time thinking about it and looking around and trying to find it. You don't have to 100% completionist speed run every game. If SM64 were made today there would be some stupid fairy or something floating around the wall with a questionmark over its head. We need less of that in games.

That part's really easy, too! By the time you get there, you have a mandatory one hundred dudes, which allows you to make the largest Unite Morph size, which allows you to destroy the drills from a safe distance, since the game always makes sure you approach drill sections from the side. It's easy to overlook this since Operation 007 is the first time you'll have a technically full team, but it makes that section considerably less frustrating!

You only need 70 out of 120 stars to complete the game, so if you wanted to finish it off you could just look up a guide and get your sweet reward. You have so much manoeuvrability that each star has many possible ways to get it.

I still prefer the N64 version over the DS one, but it's worth checking out for the awesome touch-screen minigames, and finally getting to play as Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario.

Corpse Party, bitches.
Some of the stars in Mario 64 are hard to find, but I think a better complaint is that half the stages are boring (all the water levels are enormous and empty and the worlds in the basement are all bland to look at (especially Hazy Maze Cave), for example)

A lot of the stars are completely void of creativity as well. Like how you fight the Big Boo in Boo's Mansion to get three separate stars, or how the water stage with the submarine has you swim through rings to get two or three different stars. It's like they decided each world should have 7 stars early in development, and then completely ran out of ideas and had to cram each stage full of filler to meet that number.

Then there are the caps, which are used twice each and then promptly forgotten. They were a neat idea, but it's like they added them in right at the end of development and were out of stars to associate with them.

Mario 64 isn't bad, and it was certainly amazing at the time, but it's not like it's the best Mario game ever made. Hell, it's not even in the top 10 best Mario games. It really isn't all that much fun to play anymore, and it's really representative of the N64 era of video games, when everything was ugly and empty and controlled like rear end.

No online in Nintendo Land. Im sure its because their #1 priority was "Woah look at this pad holy poo poo!"

It's fun to play some of the games like the Zelda one or Metroid one before you get depressed because these good, fun ideas will never get expanded to full games.

It sort of feels like Nintendo used up all the imagination for the game pad on Nintendo Land and now nobody will ever do anything interesting with it again.

Apparently Miyamoto has been tasked specifically to make a game that makes heavy use of the gamepad, so we'll see how that turns out.

Zombi U has an excellent pad vs remote multiplayer mode. The remote (or pro controller) player is first person shooting on the tv while the pad player is playing zombie god on the touchscreen, deploying different zombie types all strategically like. Both players try to capture control points.

Edit: Yeah, as cool of a feature as it is, too many games are just doing off-tv play and not enough are doing asymmetrical multiplayer or something that makes clever use of both screens.

It's the Wiimote problem again. Nintendo gave people who only know how to use a screwdriver one of those complicated 90 features in one tool and the only thing that they can think to do with it is drive in screws.
