I'm sure that - being serious here - Hussie will actually finish it eventually, but man his track record makes it easy to joke.

Y'all who are saying Hussie is worse than gurmy need to shut up. Homestuck started on April 13, 2009 A Feast For Crows finished on a cliffhanger and an afterword that assured the reader that all the cool characters that were not in this book would be coming along in the sequel next year. AFFC was released in 2005. A Dance for Dragons was released in 20-loving-11 e: Oh, by the way, there are still 2 more books supposedly forthcoming A big flaming stink fucked around with this message at 06:36 on Mar 6, 2014 |

It's worth noting that Hussie only wrote that part as a joke, because it is funny. The extent to which the fans took it seriously and demanded more details and invented their own details and spit into things at cons is one of the creepier things about Homestuck.

Cherub sex is pretty metal imho. Two snakes, each hundreds of millions of miles long, locked in mortal combat that is also sex, destroying entire galaxies in their wake, poo poo, that's like two-thirds of an entire Ayreon album right there.

I marathon-read the whole series a few months back because I was really bored and the Michigan cold makes my coastal blood run slow. I also have poo poo for memory and can barely remember anything that happened, and have spent a lot of time lately re-consuming media from years past in order to reevaluated it and as a pastime. This speaks horrible things about my future, I'm sure.

Seoinin posted:Yeah cherubs are p. much classical creation myth material. Yeah, but it's so goofy and irrelevant. We don't need to know about cherub sex!!!! I hope !!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, people were talking about editing homestuck a few pages back. Here's my edit: Acts 1-4: Remove exiles. (I love them but they're beyond irrelevant.) Act 5-1: Gone. (Even though it's possibly my favorite act.) Act 5-2 is now just Act 5. (Some trimming to troll roles, obviously.) Act 6: 6-1 as a full, high-speed, 5-1 style introduction to the post-scratch kids. Short Cherub intermission. Act 6-2 brings the comic to its final climax, then 7 wraps things up. Done. Obviously there's never going to be an actual second draft of Homestuck (barring the major motion picture adaptation), so yeah, I do wonder how H. is going to manage to wrap things up? How/if, I guess.

There is an alternate universe where Bec Noir chumps the trolls the same way he chumps the Exiles, Hivebent never happens and their whole narrative purpose is just to fill in some details about how the game works and how sessions go wrong/Lord English worms his way inside and eventually destroys them. I have to wonder if this wouldn't be the stronger story, even if it was missing all the fun Troll nonsense.

I might be recalling the cherub explanation completely wrong as a form of self-preservation. Still, it seemed it mostly just came down to 'they become giants, galaxies die, lay an egg'. I really don't remember there being any actual graphic detail on the biology of it all thank Christ. The joke was just how long-winded Aranea managed to make her explanations, when she really could have just summed it up neatly. Also, y'know, the other obvious joke on parts of the fandom where people come up with vast elaborate headcanons and theories that come down to "my view on troll balls."
