Frank Miller having done The Spirit has drastically reduced my ability to care about any new Sin City movie.

Sin City 2 looks like crap. The first one was a very digital movie but it was cinematic as hell. This one looks like it has that ugly direct-to-video sheen of Rodriguez's recent work.

Glad it wasn't just me who noticed that. Still, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, considering the style.

Doesn't auto tune have a distinct vocal effect? I couldn't hear what I typically hear in songs that use auto tune in that version of Tomorrow

Yeah, looks even stage-ier than the first one, but it's only the trailer so it's hard to tell. That being said, the first was an interesting mixed bag anyway. Josh Brolin and JGL playing noir should be kinda fun and I liked that shot of Ray Liotta. Pretty iffy about it though.

No. Only when its overused to achieve that effect. Tons of artists are auto-tuned and you would never know, cause thats what its supposed to do!

See, I'm glad someone else brought this up, because it's been far too long since I saw the first Sin City...I loved it and it's not like you can say that movie was subtle, but watching this trailer it feels like it dove off the edge into totally hamfisted, I was thinking to myself: "Did they highlight colors THIS much?"
It feels like the rare dash of color was maybe more effective and restrained in the first one? It feels like it's in every other bit of the trailer.
I remember how awesome the first Sin City trailer seemed to me when it came out, the music really helped too-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKFLrTYKIXk
(though looking at it now there were plenty of little color bits too)
Maybe it's also a result of taking so drat long that any initial wonder from the visual style already got buried with the bad knockoffs ages ago.

I can't promise it will live up to the hype, but I tried my best.

I can all but promise you that at least 80% of the songs on Billboard's hot 100 use auto-tuning in some capacity, much like that version of "Tomorrow" does. You can hear it at 1:31 with "out" and then again at 1:39 with "be." Obviously, voices can do an upwards inflection, but that has its own characteristics that aren't present here.

Director Frank Miller isn't a new thing. He was credited as one in the first, in the trailer no less.

Yes. The DGA doesn't allow its members to collaborate with non-members, so Rodriguez resigned his membership to work with Miller.

Man, movie trailer narration was always hilarious and I miss it a lot since it's largely absent from most movie trailers nowadays.
