Sin City 2 looks like crap. The first one was a very digital movie but it was cinematic as hell. This one looks like it has that ugly direct-to-video sheen of Rodriguez's recent work.

Glad it wasn't just me who noticed that. Still, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, considering the style.

That being said, the first was an interesting mixed bag anyway. Josh Brolin and JGL playing noir should be kinda fun and I liked that shot of Ray Liotta. Pretty iffy about it though.

Tons of artists are auto-tuned and you would never know, cause thats what its supposed to do!

It feels like the rare dash of color was maybe more effective and restrained in the first one? It feels like it's in every other bit of the trailer. I remember how awesome the first Sin City trailer seemed to me when it came out, the music really helped too- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKFLrTYKIXk (though looking at it now there were plenty of little color bits too) Maybe it's also a result of taking so drat long that any initial wonder from the visual style already got buried with the bad knockoffs ages ago.

I couldn't hear what I typically hear in songs that use auto tune in that version of Tomorrow I can all but promise you that at least 80% of the songs on Billboard's hot 100 use auto-tuning in some capacity, much like that version of "Tomorrow" does. You can hear it at 1:31 with "out" and then again at 1:39 with "be." Obviously, voices can do an upwards inflection, but that has its own characteristics that aren't present here.

Didn't Rodriguez actually quit the director's guild because they wouldn't let him co-credit Miller as director?
