I can't believe I'm going full sperg but...

Zombies have broken into buildings before, especially one as run down as that building. Combine with how exhausted she was and the idea there might be some hiding, escaping from an enclosed space can be pretty daunting, as opposed to running away in an open field, especially with zombie camo on your side. Therefore, it was logically the best solution to be outside.

All I know is that I see tons of complaining that TWD never uses Michonne's zombie pet trick or the smell-like-a-zombie trick from the first season and then the very second someone uses it no one knows what's happening.

Thematically Maggie had become a zombie so it made sense that way at least. One large super large theme of that episode was that being alone is not human. Remember in he beginning in Bobs flashback he walked and shuffled like a zombie. When Maggie went out alone - in the show's vocabulary - she was renouncing her humanity. So it makes complete sense that she was found lying done amongst zombie uh "corpses".

Lying down in fields is pretty boss. Go outside and try it. Next Sunday night. Instead of watching the show.

I feel like a lot of people are watching this show right now only because they have so much time invested into it and I would be part of that grouping. The show really has stalled out for me, and the week after week coincidences just feel like very lazy writing. If you enjoy the show, more power to you, but I don't think anyone should be getting upset at people viewing it with a critical eye and are growing tired with the same routine every episode.

Daryl keeps insisting that he and Beth are the only survivors but he conveniently forgets that he was reunited with his brother after over a year apart.

It would make more sense if a single named character had died beyond Hershel.

Someone watching the show and criticizing it in an interesting way is good. The problem is it's almost always boring criticism when it comes from people watching a show they completely hate for four years. Don't watch shows you don't like, there's no running plot to get invested with here.

I really hope the show just offs half the survivors in the remaining episodes. I feel like it's loosing steam, and heading into Woodbury 2.0 for next season (gee I wonder if they are all going to reunited in Terminus?)

For example, I feel like having Beth die in the zombie attack would've been much stronger than having some mystery characters abduct her from the plot.

I don't get what y'all are whining about. These last few episodes have been the best the series has ever produced. Characters aren't acting stupid just to advance the plot, there aren't twenty dudes just milling around in the background waiting to die randomly and we actually get to see people survive in the world for the first time since the first season. This is what The Walking Dead should be and I'm dreading Terminus because you know it'll be a return to Farm/Prison-esque stupidity. "Man is the real danger" my rear end. Its a world filled with cannibalistic zombies, ZOMBIES are the only danger worth worrying about.

If this episode wasn't good enough, I don't know what people are looking for. People behaved relatively sensibly given the stresses of the situation and we got several nice interactions about what it's like to live through a disaster. Plus Daryl went to town in a cramped room full of zombies.

Was that said in the show? Because the actress is in her late 20s, and she acts like someone in her 20s and sheltered, not a teenager. It's still a big age difference, but I take that as part of the show's reflection on what does and does not matter in this sort of extreme survival situation.

I watch the show in vain hope that one day it becomes well written and engaging as opposed to what we've had 4 seasons of with the exception of a couple episodes.

My theory is that quality of the show is directly inverse to the number of people in one place at one time.

EXT. TERMINUS STATION - Day

Daryl stands over the mauled corpse of Carl. Rick is crying.

DARYL - We're too late. Ain't never seen no walkers rip off a face like that.

Daryl squints at two figures approaching in the distance. His wariness is matched only by his sexual unavailability.

RICK - Glenn and Maggie?

It is them. They're making out and it's super hot, even though no one has brushed their teeth in two years. Suddenly there is an EXPLOSION and the REANIMATED CORPSE OF THE GOVERNOR in a WALKING ROBOT appears through the smoke. The heads of Penny and that one girl who was also sorta his daughter are mounted on his armored shoulders.

GOVERNOR - RAWWWWWRRRR IM GONNA WOOD-BURY Y'ALL!

He's interrupted by a HYUNDAI SONATA that comes crashing through the woods. MICHONNE and CAROL emerge with Samurai swords, and BOB exits from the trunk, two-fisting a gallon of listerine and NyQuil.

MICHONNE - It ends...in three to four seasons.

Music swells. Smash cut to INTRO.

Beth told Axel she was 17 in season 3 so she's probably around 18 now. The actress is actually around 30 years old. Daryl's age has never been established but Reedus is actually 45.

Ok, the wiki said she was 16 in season 2 which would put her around 18 now so that fits. Not as bad as I originally thought, but I still can't help but feel it's a little weird. Not Glenn running into a herd of zombies and shooting out the other side weird, but weird nonetheless.

Even if she is legal, I thought that's why Daryl didn't say anything. Like, if we're talking hunter-gatherer society, that kind of situation is exactly when the boning starts. But he couldn't get it out.

It sounds like Daryl has had little to no experience with women in past, save maybe one night stands or something. Maybe Sophia still haunts him, as it's only after said tension that Daryl is willing to treat her like an equal.

Just about every scene in this episode had some level of sexual tension, the Beth/Daryl stuff seemed like it was obviously meant to feel unsettling. It was one of the most loaded episodes of the show as far as that goes.

Something like half the episode was devoted to the process of Daryl starting to let his guard down between when he set up the tin can warning system and when he didn't look before opening the door.

I love how they danced around the Daryl/Carol coupling because "Ewww she's so old and has grey hair! Who'd want that?", yet the writers are more than happy to show Daryl making eyes at a little blonde teenage girl who seems much younger than she actually is.

Wasn't it just last season we were supposed to think Axel was a creeper for hitting on Beth and they were putting her on equal footing with Carl? Oh but she's "legal" now so I guess it's perfectly okay for Daryl to want to bone her. Gross.
