I'm not an expert on German culture but I learned enough of the language and modern culture to know that many Germans flip their loving poo poo if you call or imply they're Nazis, too. That video probably really, really pissed off more than a few people in ev0ke. If another video was made in that vein, it'd probably have to be against someone like finfleet or one of those regional shitlord corps that are all scattered in n3 now. That's if you wanted to piss on nationality and culture, it'd be easier and probably funnier to just focus on how poo poo our enemies are in other ways. I'm just not funny or talented enough to do it myself so I can only lament someone more clever than me hasn't done it. vOv edit: or a new video could still be about ev0ke and it'd probably be even funnier given their current state.

I thought CCP's english speaking GM staff was employed stateside in their georgia office? Seems weird and like it would be difficult to find enough fluent english and multi-lingual speakers to do all the customer service out of iceland. Either way, their actions regarding nazi stuff is super inconsistent and seemingly case-by case. I remember some goon organized his pos mods in the shape of a swastika and had to have them moved. I mentioned a few pages back that I got a temp ban for saying "mein fuehrer" in a CSM candidacy thread; a german phrase that, while has obvious modern ties to Nazism, Fuehrer isn't a loving title that is or was reserved exclusively for Adolf Hitler. So they let some strangely blantant poo poo slide, and they come down hard on other seemingly innocuous or jokey things. It's hard to get a bead on what their internal policies on this stuff is honestly, but it's unfair to insinuate Iceland are a bunch of nazis for trying to preserve their language and heritage. Nationalism isn't quite as terrible as national socialism.

Pretty much all Icelandic people 30+ speak English and they need jobs on their puny island so I doubt they'd outsource that kind of thing  But yes you are right they are super inconsistent (probably because they have a few American GM's) Iceland is a pretty awesome place but they are extremely odd and have a national registry to check and make sure the girlie you're eyeing at the pub isn't your blood relative so that kind of says a few things that can be taken in multiple ways on either side

If mittens found my dumb rear end comment out of line, he could have purged me not a word one being said and that would have been the end of it, and probably the more appropriate course of action were offense taken. In proof-reading this I think sound more upset about this than I am. I don't really care at all, so let me spell that out. I just want to be clear about what I mean and continue to bitch about CCP's across the board inconsistent enforcement of rules that aren't always that clear in the first place. That we even have to guess where the line is about this sort of thing is silly as hell.

It's actually quite common for languages to be preserved, and to avoid contamination from other languages. Notably, Welsh is very against using new English words, and they make new words which are in keeping with the Welsh language. French is an even more protected language, and France as a country even goes as far as banning movie releases until there is a French version of the title of a movie being released.

My native language is spoken by about 8-9M people and it almost dissapeared after 200 years of not being "normalized" at all. That does not imply an absolute ban of "foreign" words. Take computer science, for instance. It has basically been invented by english-speaking people, so most of the terms have an english root. It is absurd to try to invent neologisms to avoid imporing english terms (as if inventing pseudolatin or pseudogreek words is better than simply incorporing a term everyone is using). But if the language has a native word to refer to something, it makes all the sense to promote the use of that word instead of importing a foreign term. Cultural preservation al all that poo poo.
