I am not sure if I'd call this a teaser since's its for a re-release but I have always been a fan of this one for the Star Wars Special Editions

It's like music the more you do it, the more obscure your tastes get, but I think in the OP of this thread I mentioned that the original LOTR teaser was the best thing I've ever seen and I think I still stand by it even though my fanboyism creates incredible bias.

I want to say that bad loving rear end Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the best trailer I've seen in years but it didn't put asses in seats so I'm not allowed to say it is the best. That Batman teaser made everybody go batshit crazy when it came out. Must be nice to not have to worry about constructing a teaser with cues and beats. I mean, I'm older so I don't think I can really explain how crazy the hype got when that film was coming out. People were getting the Batman symbol tattooed on their calves and shoulders before the film came out. I remember watching Batman and Robin in the theaters and thinking back about those people and wondering how they felt as they watched Arnold make 90 ice-related puns.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer (and the original teaser with Rooney being embraced by Craig) were better than the movie could've ever possibly been.

I remember seeing it before FAST FIVE and the audience seemed confused and mildly contemptuous of it. Stupid normies...

I recently read an article that explained pretty well why Batman and Robin is the best of the pre-Nolan Batman movies. Gotta admit, looking back, the man made a convincing case.

Was it self-proclaimed Batman expert Chris Sims at Comic Alliance? He liked the first Burton movie, Mask of The Phantasm and B&R in a Batman movie retrospective he did before The Dark Knight Rises came out.

I really, really loved the teaser for the new Godzilla movie (the one that got leaked and which Warner Bros. surgically removed from the internet). I thought as far as teasers went it was drat near perfect.

So was the teaser for Episode II. I remember going apeshit over The Phantom Menace trailer, especially that short glimpse of Maul igniting his double-bladed lightsaber. That was a literal "holy poo poo" moment for me as a 12 year old. Both the Episode 1 and Episode 2 teasers were previews for films that don't exist though.

I really, really hope they carry on the "tradition" of exclusively using John Williams' score for Episode VII's trailers. Wouldn't really feel appropriately "Star Wars" if they instead went with some Two Steps From Hell nonsense like Abrams did with Star Trek 11.

The biggest difference for me, personally, is not hearing the 20th Century Fox Fanfare on opening night of Episode VII. That's going to be so weird.

EDIT: my favorite teaser of all time is probably Cloverfield. You can't do better than this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqQzvfn_s30

It was attached with Transformers I think and it didn't even give you a title. In fact, before the transformer premiere I don't think anyone was talking about this movie at all. It literally came out of nowhere and it was awesome.

Oh man, Requiem for a Tower (and the song that it was a remix of, Lux Aeterna): The tracks that launched a thousand fan-vids.

e: Cloverfield, I think, was a victim of the same syndrome the Star Wars prequels faced, in that their respective trailers were too drat good and as a result produced a insane amount of hype. Of course there are other factors to that hype: the former promised to be the Godzilla of the 2000s while the latter were freaking new Star Wars movies.

Cloverfield was the Godzilla of the 2000s, people just don't want to consider that "of the 2000s" means "shot at a personal level, where death is inevitable". It's way better than the Godzilla of the 1990s, that's for sure.

So besides that, why should you care? Well Paul Walker's in it, and in fact, I think this may have been his last movie (unless the footage he shot for Fast & Furious 7 is still used). RZA's in it too.

The movie itself doesn't look too special but I'll still go see it because of Paul Walker. It comes out on April 25th.
