If anyone's looking for a good alternate start mod, I recommend Skyrim Unbound. It lets you choose your starting equipment, gold, spells and where to start, and you can also toggle dragons, soul absorption and shouts on or off. You can also just set all that to random and do your best with what you get. It works really well with Character Creation Overhaul. The only problem is that it's Workshop only, the guy who made it was banned and now wants nothing to do with the Nexus.

I really wish people who are banned from Nexus would use something like TES Alliance instead of Steam - I don't have anything against Steam but the whole app store design of it just doesn't work well with the complexity and intricacy of TES modding; the way it handles versioning has always been disastrous for anything more complex than a texture replacer. That, and I can never get the loving BSA and Workshop integration in the CK to work. :argh:

Not pictured: 99.99867% of my files, and two random-rear end scripts from SkyUI. ffs!

Anyway, have people been trying FCO? Does anyone have any bugs to report or complaints to make about it so far? Anything you guys have to say is appreciated, even (especially!) complaints about a line being said too much. I want to get this as polished as possible before I publish it.

The beta for Follower Commentary Overhaul is, if you missed it, here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_XfVIdUSm4XeUJHRjVVbmRycGM/edit?usp=sharing

Dawnguard adds a werewolf perk tree so you'll want that before anything else.

Moonlight Tales shakes up werewolf gameplay but doesn't make them any stronger. Stuff like lunar transformations, transforming at will, etc.

Bloodmoon Rising overhauls the perk tree that Dawnguard added.

Werewolf Mastery gives you optional straight buffs to werewolf stats if this isn't enough. Also the ability to change howls or revert to normal at will.

Re: NPCs in the dark. I tried this but it just resulted in people going through pickup animation loops or holding invisible unlit torches. Not sure if that was just script lag on my end or an incompatibility or the mod being beta though.

Cool, thanks for the rundown!

I think I read that you can trick the it by making the broken bsa then before hitting the final ok to upload to the workshop tab out and use bsaopt or archive.exe to make the working file and then overwrite the broken one and click ok in the ck. It should upload fine but then freak out if you try and do anything else before restarting the ck.

Hey guy, I hear your pain. One of my internal projects that I haven't spun onto the Nexus yet is a fix for Illia's NPC record that turns her into a stable follower. I'll take a look at it and get it spruced up into pre-publish form and put it up on Gdrive if you're still looking to make her a follower.

If not, I can still walk you through the steps of getting your stuff back: first, input
code:
prid 0004B22E
into the console. This will change your console's focus to Illia even though you can't see her. Next, input
code:
moveto player
. This will snatch her up from whatever shadowy nether-realm she's run off to, back to you. If she is still grouped with you, then you'll be able to get your stuff back and dismiss her cleanly. If she isn't in a group with you but still has your stuff, then use
code:
openactorcontainer 1
; this will allow you to get your stuff back without killing her.

Thanks for this but I solved it by using item codes to get the base items I'd given her and re-enchanting. I'll remember this for next time though!

Kace autoloot is a sweet solution.

I use it to snatch up gold, ingridients, potions, gems etc. automatically.
It also has the perfect usability tweak of letting unlooted corpses "shimmer" so that I quickly see which corpse I have left, and then move over there and get all the valuables.

If you want to build up your character in a another direction then just start using something else. Use trainers to help smooth the curve if you have to. You aren't going to magically move points from one stat to another.

If it's your attributes you're worried about, then start with enchantments and grab Dragon Soul Relinquishment or something similar to add further opportunity to raise those stats.

It's not necessarily supposed to be easy to teach an old dog new tricks, but it can be done. :)

Welp, everything stayed stable after adding Immersive Creatures. Skipping Complete Crafting Overhaul for now, because I'm already breaking the economy by way of craftables - I think it's Unique Bows I'm abusing now, as there's one that values at 2600 gold  that can be built with leather strips and firewood :catstare:. (Not that I *get* that for an unimproved version, from non-Orcs. Trade & Barter :argh:)

Ended up buying Calcelmo out of spellbooks, because of Apocalyptic and Forgetten Spells Remastered. "Use this spell to auto-loot all corpses in a 120 foot radius", indeed. :pervert: (Might have the numbers wrong, but "loot corpses" I remember.) Too bad I'm not running a mage this time.

Thanks to a combination of mods, CCO, an enchantment, and a high Smithing skill, I somehow made a Wraith Scythe with the enchantment from the Fang of Haynekhtnamet from Morrowind that was valued at 11,200 gold when I was done working. I'm not at a high enough Speech skill to be an investor, so basically it's just a conversation piece in my mansion right now.

I forget where I'd ended up on this run, but something like level 14 and I'm standing at the forge looking at the lists.

I'll probably upgrade to something even more disgusting tonight, before I try Realistic Animals. Need to make/buy a Polar Bear Claw Cloak, though, as I'm wearing a white fur backpack and The White Bear armored helmet. I should also see if there's a white-furred clawed gauntlet set to make as well.

If you're using immersive creatures, be careful using the auto-loot spell in a cell where you can harvest spider eggs, like bleak falls barrow.

Or turn off the "Chance of Spider Attacks when harvesting spider eggs" in the SiC MCM.

Unless you like fighting 50+ spiders every time you cast it, in that case go hog loving wild. :getin:

Also, CCOr actually makes crafting less abusable, FWIW.

the FCO works great, but I don't have any MCM menu for it (is it implemented yet?) and the amount of stuff they spout is too high. Like, tone it down by 66% high. Jenassa told me over the course of one dungeon that people don't care much about dunmer, about 5 times.

That said, I'm walking around with both Vorstag and Jenassa, so it basically feels like they're poo poo talking me all the time, which I love.

I installed a large number of mods over a fresh install of Skyrim. All of them from the recommended list in the OP and during the intro sequence the player's cart goes nuts, flopping about everywhere as if it were made of jello. Everything else seems to be working fine and the rest of the Helgen sequence goes off without issue, but the cart going nuts was pretty hilarious. Which I knew what had caused it.

Doesn't Dynamic Vampire Appearance also cause this? I know it fucks up the cart-riding for Dynamic Carriages so it might do the same to the intro, which I think DC is based on. Luckily if you disable DVA in the MCM that fixes it.

It could also be Immersive Patrols. There's usually a Dawnguard contingent wandering north of Helgen that causes the opening cart sequence to go nuts.

The same thing happens to me and I don't use any of the mods suggested to be the culprit. I eventually had to get a mod that skips the Helgen sequence since my carriage would never arrive there, it would just flop around endlessly. Not a huge deal for me, I get to skip the intro.

Has anyone ever used Cerwiden? NPC follower who heals you and has full voice acting and quests related to her backstory. I'm not sure how good the content is yet so I thought I'd ask, but I like that she's apparently self-sufficient AI and doesn't seem to need any real tweaking.

[edit]Yeah, I had to take her staff away, tell her to stop engaging in combat unless directly attacked, and tell her to cast defensive spells only, but after that she's been pretty helpful. I'd rather there was one big "Heal Only" setting that covered all that, but otherwise pretty good. They did a huge amount of voice work for her little quips on specific areas, though whether or not you like the voice acting is pretty much a dealbreaker. I believe you can turn this off though.

Yeah, I use this and it's great. Just open up the mod control menu for it every time you start a new game and it lets you toggle whether to auto-loot gold, lockpicks, gems, alchemy ingredients, foods, jewelry, ingots, pelts, high damage arrows, low damage arrows...

I am having a lovely time with this at the moment.

I have a bout 30 mods installed (running through MO) and was getting the odd crash, that's fine I can live with that. Now I am starting to get an issue that is really annoying and game breaking.

Initially if I tried to approach Falkreath I would CTD, I figured I would just avoid it for a while and try a few days later. Now I get the same if I try to enter Markarth or my home in Winterhold. It's becoming unplayable and worse by the day.

I have unloaded all the mods and it still happens. I have also tried the fix mentioned by Agents Are GO! below

Agents are GO! posted:

I run I to stuff like this occasionally. I've found that its often caused by a wee bit of corruption. Here's how I can almost always fix it:

Go to a secluded interior: I use the basement of Anise's cabin for this.

Do a manual save in a new slot.

Open the console, type "pcb" and hit enter. (This clears the cache.)

Take note of the in game date.

Open the console again, and type "set timescale to 1000000"

Let at least 30 in game days to pass, it should only take a few seconds.

Open the console again, and type "set timescale to 20" for a vanilla timescale.

Do another manual save in a new slot.

Quit to desktop, the restart and load your game.

I've found that this almost always fixes these sort of random locational crashes.

Problem is when I accelerate time I CTD. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Here is the mods list
