Like a member of AA, I sometimes relapse and dip my toe back into the pool of what the Stern show is up to these days. I have to admit, I got a kick out of Ronnie's sex tips this past year. Jesus christ. I nearly peed my pants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFZ6GP9Y7ws https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7oHvSceccA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I43f2Ll910 Sorry, I'm sure a lot of those overlap, but some are more in depth than others. I'm not sure if they are still on YouTube, but "Stuck on You" with Jeff the Drunk was a hilarious and sad look into his life. I can stand recent episodes of the show for just a little at a time now. Right around the time that "JD's clip of the week" became a regular thing was when I stopped listening with any regularity. At this point I basically just read this thread and listen to old bits, and I doubt I'm alone in that.

A lot of the older Howard clips are funny, but then again a lot are REALLY not funny. I think at the time he was literally just throwing everything offensive he could out on the radio. It was like a game of trying to be the shock jock that pushed the most buttons. I think he was doing it because he had to, he had to get his spotlight and attention. They told him he couldn't say 7 words, so he would say the words they didn't have rules about, like racist things. He said that racist/sexist stuff so much because it was the only "doozy" he had to say, since he couldn't say tits and gently caress. I miss some of those bits, Marge Schott was incredible, Gilbert was amazing, but his gay room stuff was really bad, where he would badger guests and callers into going into his gay room and being gay with him. It was just such a non joke and he was doing it to make people uncomfortable, but OOGHA, he was being really weird during that stuff, also he wasn't getting laid by his then wife and hanging out with gal pal Ralph a lot, so who knows. Now Howard knows a little better, he lets the people around him hang themselves, instead of himself putting it all out there. That way if somebody gets called out, "Hey, I'm not the boss, I don't control that person".

Yeah, I miss Gilbert, probably my favorite all time guest. Since we are digging through clips, I'll ask again if someone has found this one clip: Gilbert is sitting in for the news, and they start busting on Jackie for all of his crappy houses. At one point someone suggests that Jackie's neighbors are black, and Gilbert starts doing some insane "holey mackerel!" Amos and Andy stuff. By the end of the show it devolves into Gilbert going "Boogity-boogity" and laugh himself silly.

Gilbert's my favorite. I vividly remember a segment with Gilbert discussing his appearance on Son of the Beach as a Hasidic lifeguard from Israel, which culminated on air in 'Dracula Gottfried' giving his testimony to Al Goldstein's lawyer as a character witness. It was just so bizarre and so very Gilbert. "He's a big, fat, 5000 pound hook nosed kike, and when he talks he gets little balls of saliva in the corners of his mouth, but he's a good man! RELEASE THAT TEN THOUSAND POUND HEEB!"

You guys are awesome for all these recommendations. I'm about at the same point in the show as that other guy who requested must-listen clips. I've just listened to everything with Beetlejuice, Sal, some Ronnie stuff, some Richard stuff, and just other random clips from the youtube sidebar. So, thanks for the awesome stuff to keep me busy.

Hard to believe the switch to Sirius was almost 8 years ago. I've been trying to think of the really good stuff from the first year. so far I have: - Calling Martha Stewart's daughter a oval office - Richard getting waxed - Buck Angel on the sybian - Elliot Offen - Artie and the vending machine guy

No, it was on from Day 1 because they talk about how Buck Angel is the most-viewed piece a day or so later on HowardTV. Anyone recommend anything TRULY FUNNY or interesting that happened in the past three years? Similar to what I posted before, like Ronnie's sex tips? I say three years because I stopped listening around the end of 2010. Interviews, bits, pranks, whatever, going through this thread is a chore when it was posted in real time, best to reflect on them now.

Howard now, to me at least, is more interesting and entertaining just to listen to him talk about stuff. Maybe it's because he is older and I am way older and a dad and a business person instead of a horny 15 year old but I don't know. He's kind of like a chill dude. The bits aren't as memorable and Sal and Christy dont really do all that much for me.
