So what I get from this video is that Gaga is giving the biggest gently caress you to the music industry. I can't wait for someone to analyze this video  I got certain The Fame era feelings while watching it as well, as if the music video was Poker Face 2.0 mixed with the ferocity that was Bad Romance. I suddenly really want to visit Hearst Castle (assuming it's open to the public.) But really, that was fantastic and really quite beautiful. Smiley Zeus in the sky makes me giggle. And Gaga looks fantastic and also, occasionally, very creepily like Donatella. The shots of her on the pool float were uncanny.

The last 30 seconds of the video were a blur after I noticed her wearing the same bird wing headpiece that Laganja Estranja wore in this week's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. Overall I was pleased, but that audio cut in the credits was just nasty.

If you like interpretations of music videos, I liked this writeup. A lot of it is obvious stuff (laying in a pit while businessman rush to grab cash, while a black man holding a bow (im assuming her manager) shoots an arrow into her back) but some of it is speculation (a bit of a stretch). Anyway, I thought it was interesting. -- The Secret Society is known as G.U.Y. - girl under you. She's under you (no longer at the top of the music industry) but she's in control and powerful. Gaga and her idea of society - you don't need to be on top to be powerful in the artistic sphere, in relationships and in the music industry. The Price of Commercialism is the death of ART Gaga has crash landed. She was a soaring phoenix during the incipient years of her rise in the pop industry. With her streaks of number 1s on the pop charts, that night she won 10 VMAs and winning multiple Grammys. She was also a cultural juggernaut. However, after Born This Way, an injury and being cast out, she is left to die by those who only used her for money. They know that she is a money maker, however they don't care about her. ART lies DEAD under the money of the men of the music industry. Pop reigns supreme.  But A hybrid can withstand these things Gaga's struggle to her feet reflects her solitude in the battle to be herself in a world where men only want to use her for money. Venus, love and the need to rebirth Neptune Pool is a cesspool for creativity. The HAUS and embryonic creative space bring her and heal her mind and soul - giving her the opportunity to rebirth from a safe space. It is both a funeral to lay to rest the pain of the past and a state of rebirth.  While she's rebirthing and absent from the music industry, it is taken over by RHOBH like artists - A commentary on mindless money making hollow music  Appear awkward, glitz and glam while faux playing instruments. It is a commentary on shoving mindless and substance-less music down people's throats. If I'm rich, if I can afford it, put me in a music video and make me look musical and professional. It is intentionally awkward. They would know that the blonde lady is playing the cello in the wrong position. REBIRTH/Neptune Pool/Visual Filler  Dance scene, fashion, scenic crane shots - what a music video should be Room full of rebirthed "Saints" "Philosophers" "Musical Icons"/ Cloning There is a reference to Minecraft "/gamemode ARTPOP" (and previously Andy Cohen and the RHOBH - a show Gaga has professed to love). These together could represent elements of Gaga's hobbies during the time of her injury. They are interspersed as comical and interesting parts of her personal life. They take the DNA of Jesus (Love, Powerful, Wisdom), Ghandi, (Love, Wisdom), MJ (Talent, Love) and create a society of those who serve art (men in black suits). It is interesting to note that Ghandi, MJ and Jesus were all betrayed by the people they served. There is a duality here, Gaga could be talking about the love and compassion she spreads with her Little Monsters. Taking over the Industry  Gaga blasts money to distract the money hungry music machine. With that opportunity, she uses it to push art, love and compassion into the industry. She removes the management from before. The reign of the money machine is over.

That's an OK interpretation, but I disagree with the Real Housewives representing "mindless and substance-less" art. That's a pre-judgement that person has of reality TV as low-brow trash, but it doesn't fit with how they're actually presented in the film. Nor with the values Gaga has expressed over her career (especially recently). They're depicted as part of the freely creative workspace inside the castle, and if they're playing their instruments wrong its because they only care about self-expression and not because they're "mindless and substance-less". Remember, ARTPOP the song says art can be as simple as lovers flying a kite in public. I think the Minecraft and Lego parts just represent taking ideas from fantasy and making them reality through her work (to go along with Gaga's frequent proclamation that she lives half-way between the two at all times). Good music video, though. The Housewives were great, especially in the building. Hopefully David Foster doesn't divorce Yolanda for abusing that cello. it's gaga's 28th today, and she showed up to Roseland wearing a helluva birthday suit. i lurk here often and don't see much fashion posted, so don't want to get in trouble or break a rule i didn't see by posting fashion photos, but this loving bodysuit. from GGD:  out of the thousands of looks she's worn, this one takes the cake for me. garden butt plug

Has G.U.Y been making the rounds on the radio stations yet? I drive about 2 hours everyday and have yet to hear it here in Philly. I'm trying to figure out if I am just unlucky, or if it's just not getting radio play. I am so excited for May to see her again, the video really did renew my excitement levels and seeing all these shots of her Roseland Ballroom shows makes me so happy.

I have literally never done this for an artist before, I've become such a fanboy o_O I'm visiting NYC to visit a friend, and he surprised me with Roseland tickets to last nights show. The show itself was AWESOME (though kinda short). I found the born this way ball to be kinda boring (her energy seemed kinda depleted) but this show was CRAZY. When the show finished we ran behind the building where a bunch of little monsters were already waiting. She would be coming out that door and hopefully meeting us. After waiting nearly 1 1/2 hours she finally came out, greeted a bunch of fans, threw roses for us (i caught one  ) and took a bunch of photos then left.So tonight is my last night in NYC, I hit up the Metropolitan musuem of art, central park, and a bunch of other stuff-- and I came back to the hotel around 9 pm and was like.....wait a minute, I could go wait AGAIN at the same spot and take my real camera this time (though its pretty dark on that street and my camera doesnt have a flash) and hopefully take some photos. I'd have to wait another hour to an hour and a half. IN THE RAIN. !!!! Oh gaga, what have you done to me. Also, here's a picture.
