RUSH: Now, the Obamacare Stack. You remember...? You probably don't, 'cause when I read the story I had to jog my own memory and remind myself that I had made the very point. It's a See, I Told You So in the story. Because there's been so much to say about Obamacare in explaining it, and there have been so many things to predict about it that are coming true.

One of the things that I had said in the past that I'd, frankly, forgotten 'til I saw the AP story was it wouldn't be long -- wasn't gonna be long -- before massive criticism of doctors erupted. That criticism would take the form of, "Why should people treating the sick become rich?" Remember? It was going to be long -- I warned you -- before we saw a class warfare assault on doctors.

"Why should anybody make anything making people well? Why should there be profit in helping the sick get well?" I predicted that the left would be on this case and that they would target doctors with it. "Why in the world...? Especially since they're not just gonna make a profit and not just get paid. Why should people get rich treating the sick?

"Why should that be a source of wealth? That's a public duty! That is a community responsibility. We should all be trying to help the sick and the helpless and the starving and the thirsty. Why should anybody get paid, and why should anybody get rich?" Lo and behold, here comes the first installment in the effort to stigmatize doctors as undeserving profiteers.

It comes from the AP. I think the memo has gone out from the Regime: It's time now to bash Medicare. As I predicted, doctors are the next heavies here. "Why should they make so much money?" This story, I think, is the first move or one of the first moves in an effort to open a the war on Medicare and doctors. The headline is: "Database: Some Doctors Getting Millions From Medicare." (Gasp!)

...

Why should there be any profit in that? Why shouldn't that just be volunteer work? So that was July of 2012. And, by the way, it wasn't any great prediction. Obama had led me into it. Obama, in selling Obamacare in the early stages. Remember all those stories about doctors who did unnecessary tonsillectomies to earn an additional $40,000?

How about doctors who did unnecessary amputations? I'll take you back to the beginnings of this. You have to remember that Obama, in selling Obamacare, launched on the doctors. They were the incarnate of evil. They were the primary reason everything cost so much. They didn't work very hard; they cheated you. They put you out on the operating table.

And they did things to you that you didn't agree to, and they charged you extra for it, and your insurance company paid, and they got rich! They would just as soon exploit you as treat you. I couldn't understand it. Why were the doctors going along with this, or why were some? Why were some hospitals going along with it? Why didn't people see at the time at what we were headed for?

...

It was clear as a bell what he intended to do with the health care system, and it was just as frustrating as it could be. So I'm just reliving all this because I want to tell you, the first salvo in the war on doctors has now begun. It's a very little, subtle thing here in the Associated Press. But you have to know a story like this will end up at Yahoo.com, or wherever the low-information crowd decide to read.

I'll tell you what will happen. It'll get tweeted all over the place and Facebooked all over the place and various ignoramuses will be out there saying, "Yeah, I knew these doctors were screwing us all! I knew they were ripping us off!" What happens is Obama continues to foster a culture war among groups of Americans, all to achieve his ultimate aim of ripping this all apart and putting 'em back together in his socialist dream vision.

This was some seriously funny poo poo

quote:

RUSH: Oh, this is a day for sadness or frustration or what have you. I really cannot believe this. One of the men that I idolized growing up -- one of the men who I wanted to be like growing up, Hank Aaron, who's now 80, who broke the Babe Ruth home-run record -- is out there saying the Republican Party is today's KKK. It's just sad. It's just so silly. I don't know.

He was speaking to USA Today on the 40th anniversary of his then-record breaking 715th home run, and he said that it's the Republicans who are hindering Obama's job performance. Well, that's just silly. Republicans haven't made any effort to stop Obama. I mean, not seriously. Hank, the Republicans are trying to find ways to make it look like they agree with the guy on various things.

Henry Aaron said, "Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he's treated. ... The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts."

He didn't even originate that. I don't know who did. (interruption) Was Rangel the first? Was he the first guy that said that? (interruption) Well, you're right, Rangel did say that years ago. "Well, they used to wear hoods, but now they wear stand for shirts and red ties." Henry Aaron! Good grief, I liked Henry Aaron so much, I even didn't mind when he went on the Dinah Shore Show.

He had breakfast with his wife, scrambled eggs and bacon. They actually ate back in those days, when it wasn't a big deal to eat on TV. Dinah Shore was saying, "What do you do? You play baseball?" I'm just kidding. She knew what he did. So Henry Aaron is comparing the Republican Party to the militant wing of the Democrat Party. The KKK was a bunch of Democrats. But that's not even the point. The point is that it's just silly.

It's disappointing, is what it is.

And our final moment of pure hilarity from today was Limbaugh gushing about how one of the leading House representatives lacking in mental faculties tried to get some cheap shots in on Eric Holder

quote:

RUSH: Louie Gohmert, one of our all-time favorite members of the House of Representatives. He's from Texas, and Louie... I have to say this. Louie is a judge. He's a former judge. One of the reasons that he wanted to get elected to Congress is he was driving around one day between cases, and he heard me explain baseline budgeting, and it infuriated him. It literally infuriated him. Of course I explained it in such a way to make it simple.

It was easy to understand, and he didn't have to call me and say, "What do you mean? What is it?" He understood it, and so he's been in Congress for awhile. There were hearings yesterday on the budget and number of other things, and this was also hearing where Eric Holder, the AG, came up, and Louie went after him on Fast and Furious.

The attorney general, Eric Holder, said, "I'd be very careful. You don't want to go there, buddy. You don't want to go there, buddy." In Holder's mind, he's untouchable. You can't get anywhere near him. He's the attorney general, and you're just human debris. "You're just a gnat. I'm the attorney general! You're asking me Fast and Furious? You don't want to go there, buddy!" But you can't scare Louie Gohmert.

So let's go to the first of the floor of the House yesterday afternoon where Louie Gohmert from Texas is speaking about the federal budget...

GOHMERT: In the 1990s, I heard what apparently was a "lovable little fuzzball" that turned out to be Rush Limbaugh, talking about the absurd of the United States government doing something that no person, no family, no business, no charity in all of America could do. Show me a business, show me a family, show me an individual, show me a charity that has an automatic increase in every year's budget! 'Cause America can't do that, and I was shocked that this was going on.

RUSH: So was everybody else. (chuckling) The baseline budgeting technique goes back to the Watergate era or thereabouts. It's not tied to Watergate, it was something else that happened, but that's how fairly recently it is. Baseline budgeting is the baseline every year is what the government spends that year. Every department gets an automatic, depending on the department, eight to 10% increase, no matter what.

Anything that expands that baseline therefore expands government spending. It's a dream come true. This is why the agriculture department advertises at the end of the year for more food stamp. They want the money spent because that way eight to 10% of that baseline, what was spent, bam! It just keeps growing and growing. Whether it's needed or not, whether the previous year's budget was spent, whether it was too much or not enough, it doesn't matter.

Baseline budgeting is just an automatic increase, without any other factor. The budget is never put together in such a way to say, "Let's take agriculture. Okay, what did we spend last year? Did we need all that? No? Okay, well, we can cut it by X." Unh-uh. And baseline budgeting is actually how a "cut" is actually an "increase."

...

Now, this is during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on oversight of the Department of Justice. Holder testified, and here it is with Louie Gohmert...

GOHMERT: I've read you what your department promised, and it is inadequate. And I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight.

HOLDER: You don't want to go there, buddy. You don't want to go there, okay?

GOHMERT: I don't want to go there?

HOLDER: No.

GOHMERT: About the contempt?

HOLDER: You should not assume that, uh, that is not a big deal to me. I think that it was inappropriate and it was unjust. But never think that that was not a big deal to me. Don't ever think that!

GOHMERT: There have been no indications that it was a big deal, because your department has still not been forthcoming in producing the documents that were the subject of the contempt.

RUSH: Ooh! Folks, you don't talk that way to people in this Regime! You just don't do that. Hip, hip, hurray for Louie Gohmert! This isn't done. They kind of cross-talk, and you really can't hear it, but Holder said, "You don't want to go there, buddy." But it comes... This is a 40-second bite, and this is the first 10 seconds. So play this again. It's worth hearing again, but listen very closely here to the open.

[plays the stupid poo poo again]

RUSH: That's it. That's it. That's just fearless.

Levin is Master Shake. He literally will shout at people, "SHUT UP! I'M EDUCATING YOU!"

Also, while it certainly sounds a lot like Mr. Producer doesn't exist, he does have an engineer that I think manages the grunt work of bumping into and out of breaks. A month or so ago he got really confused by Daft Punk's Get Lucky bumping him in, and had a really really stupid conversation with the engineer about it.

Levin is a total loon, but he's also lazy as gently caress. Managing satellite feeds and levels and stuff is actual work that might take some technical training. So that's out of the question. I also think that engineer he calls Mr. Producer might also double as a call screener. Levin only ever takes a handful of calls, and he's said in the past he only has like 5 or 6 lines.

He definitely works the sound effects board himself, though. The way he says, "Cut 1! Go!" so fast kind of proves that since there's no way an actual human being would be able to react that fast and that accurately.

He also has a pathological preoccupation with the way people speak which is hilarious because most of the time he's criticizing some kind of regional accent. Because he lives in his own bubble bunker world he doesn't realize that he also has a regional accent with just as many weird quirks. "Constichu--shon","Strenth", etc.

There was a funny moment a few months back when he said, "I've been this same way since I was a teenager!" as if having the same style of interaction as a shithead teenager was a badge of honor to be worn proudly.

Vote with your wallet. Conservatives harp on this all the time but you're not actually supposed to do it, that loving freaks them out. If this kind of super effective loud backlash wildfire protest becomes even more common place the next time Rush calls some woman a slut he knows that the same silent base will slam every single one of his sponsors in a volume that made his last gently caress up seem like a tiny blip.

Not just Rush either, GOP party officials, high profile CEOs, you name it, none of them want accountability for their backwater views and in the past there was always a small chance that if you said / did something dumb in front of the wrong person a reporter might get wind of it. But now odds are if you do something anywhere any time and there's any record of it, no matter how small, the longer time goes on the higher the chance that it gets disclosed or hacked and your financial fortunes hosed before you even see the first re-tweet. Its the only effective weapon against them, they don't fear being scum, they don't fear being insulted, but they are scared stiff of being poor.

Its really the internet's fault too. Not just because of the accessibility of data, but because of the human willingness to draw battle lines when you dont have to look someone in the eye. In the past it was easier to just say gently caress it and not think about it when something contentious came up, after all most people really don't want to get in a yelling match with their neighbor over some company scandal. Once that happens they entrench almost immediately, suddenly you're willing to call Bob next door an rear end because Bob is still next door and not up in your grill, now you're uninstalling Firefox and Bob is swearing to use it forever and boom your boycott of Mozilla has begun. After that its just a numbers game, whoever has more will hurt / help the corporation more and in the end if your position is slightly less palatable your corporation gets is bottom line poo poo all over, and it happens in a matter of hours or days well before you could draft a reaction strategy.

t was revealed last week that in 2008, Mozilla’s CEO donated over $1000 to a political campaign that was staunch anti same-sex marriage.

The CEO’s name is John Lilly

According to Open Secrets, John Lilly made a political contribution to candidate Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in the amount of $2,300. Lilly quietly stepped down under his own accord as Mozilla’s CEO in 2010. So why was Lilly, who donated money to an anti same-sex marriage campaign, not singled out, but incoming/outgoing Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich was forced to resign when it was revealed that he donated to Proposition 8 in California in 2008, the exact same year Barack Obama stated he believed marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman?

Why did Mozilla spare John Lilly but sacrifice Brendan Eich at the altar of rabid progressive mob who claims to be all inclusive and tolerant of free speech?

Because this has nothing to do with gay rights or gay marriage.

This is about Barack Obama and his culture of activism. This is about advancing progressivism ideology and no person, regardless of their contribution to the planet can be left standing if the perception exists that they stand in the way of that agenda. This is why our President has remained silent in the wake of recent rash of progressive mob tactics.

Obama being pro-straight marriage in 2008 was likely just mass appeal politiciking, but either way it's not comparable to actually donating to Prop 8.

My grandparents did not attend my aunt's same sex wedding because they disapproved but they voted in favor of it being legal. It must be one of those old school conservative attitudes where your personal opinion about things is distinct from your opinion about what the law should permit.

e: Likewise, it is possible to be anti-abortion without voting to ban abortion or being on some horrid picket line.

No it isn't? Being pro traditional marriage is an implicit opposition to anything that doesn't fit your definition of traditional marriage.

Ok but they're still anti gay marriage.

I'm anti abortion but I don't believe it is mine or the state's right to make that decision for anyone.

So you're defining them by their personal opinion and not their political opinion?

What is the use of that? Shaming?
