The idea of community is to prove yourself and be accepted by behaving like normal, tolerant, "dumb people". Forcing people to like you by copycatting their lovely faults, because you think that makes you look cool, has the opposite effect. I'm still super new at this game and have no idea what any post in the last 2 pages mean, but am having a blast. Is it just me though or does every pubbie play this game like it's a goddamn race? I swear to god every match is just everybody trying to finish first with most of the crates and chests that have loot completely ignored. I'll take my time looking everywhere for loot and get to the end with everybody doing flips on walls and trying to cut each other right outside the escape pods.

I'll take my time looking everywhere for loot and get to the end with everybody doing flips on walls and trying to cut each other right outside the escape pods. The way you go through a mission is driven by what you seek to achieve by it. If you are interested in credits, or the advertised reward (a hat, a mod, a weapon blue print), it is best to go through that mission as fast as possible (in case you somehow fail it, you can start over before the alert expires). These are generally done with randoms, friends, and rarely solo. If you are looking to level up your frame, farm a certain resource, a certain mod, or a certain BP part, you will take your time. These sort of missions are played best alone or with friends. Good players, normal people and goons (a race in its own right, just like Martians) steer clear of randoms, and play either solo or, privately, coop with friends. The only type of people you meet in randoms are (with very few exceptions) the casuals or the anti-socials. The former couldn't give a poo poo, the latter are unable to give a poo poo. Either of the two archetypes are not fun to play with. Actually, they are massive hurdle once you figure out the game a bit. I strongly suggest to A. switch to solo when you have no friends to play with. B. switch to private and either ask goons to play with you, or sign up for whatever goon activities are going on (usually announced in clan chat). Don't worry about your level, your skill, what have you. As long as you aren't being a hallway hero, and die every 3 seconds, somewhere in dumbfuckville, you are always an asset, not an anchor. No one will ever give you a hard time for waving around your mk1 braton in a tower 3 survival game. I love cats fucked around with this message at 16:57 on Apr 17, 2014 |

Yah, don't worry about the stuff in the last couple of pages. The developers of the game added a new space rail system last week and the old-timers are still trying to understand the cost/benefit of duking it out with other clans. I felt the same way as you when I started out. It was hard to keep up with the other dudes. For a lot of the higher-level players, they've played the types missions hundreds if not thousands of times and so they ignore the loot cases. They have tons of money and materials. So for them, each mission IS kind of a race because they're after the reward for completion, not for the bits of cash and materials that you get from destroying crates. Just have fun. Once you play for a little longer, all of the forum posts will make sense and you'll be the one stabbing the other dudes by the pods.

In my experience, it was collecting every single chunk of scrap I came across early on that made grinding less of a hurdle later, when I could afford to buy a main warframe or weapon bp. It may not seem much, but opening every crate along the way tends to amount to quite a bit. To my dismay, a friend I carried through missions to help him make credits and get his rhino quickly, needed even more carrying into high level missions, to collect all the resources he needed to build the drat thing (orokin cells, neuronal sensors, control modules, rubedo, plastids, etc). Believe me when I say, it is exactly when you need something, the game somehow decides it should not drop it, at all. I love cats fucked around with this message at 17:10 on Apr 17, 2014 |

I'll take my time looking everywhere for loot and get to the end with everybody doing flips on walls and trying to cut each other right outside the escape pods. See also: Squad broken on G3 incoming, the pubbie that chat was laughing about last night for trying to run from Stalker. We have our own reasons to speed though, as others have covered. But to summarize: - Once you're hundreds of hours in, you've seen this poo poo. - Only certain mission have particularly worthwhile stuff in containers - even then, it's a matter of RNG, and people are often aiming for the mission reward anyways. If you want to explore and look around, such as in the void, just say so ahead of time - I feel most of us are willing to slow down and show you things like secret loot rooms, especially if you're new. - Some people lag behind and explore the void anyways if there's no defending in the mission. If they mark and announce big loot rooms, most people will backtrack to them. - Orokin Derelict Vault runs generally have more exploration, since you have to find the drat vault in the first place. However, groups will form specifically for these. - Speaking of Orokin Derelicts, you build those keys using black Nav Coordinate spheres out of containers (and the OD Assassinate missions use the spheres from other OD missions). Thing is, we already have a ton of these keys - when you're new, save your other crafting resources and ask for someone to run one. If you use the Carrier sentinel, you'll also absorb a lot of Nav Coordinates over time. - For general crafting resources, it's often more worthwhile to murder as many spacemans as fast as possible: Defense, Mobile Defense, Survival. Two of those are about standing in one area while dudes swarm you, so there's not a huge need to go fast. - The old way to get credits fast was to run lots of void keys. The new way to get credits fast is to 5-waves-and-out on Pluto Dark Sector Defense when it's open, and run lots of void keys when it's closed due to the lovely railfight system. Even if you don't want to SPEEEEEED, I still recommend learning to Zorencopter, as it will allow you to explore faster. With certain weapons, slide (sprint-crouch) then melee or flying kick (sprint-jump-crouch) then melee to launch yourself. Before, the Dual Zoren axes did it best, but now, the whips, the Kama, some staffs, and many longswords are all capable of it. To check, attempt the move with an unmodded melee weapon - if you don't lose speed, the weapon should be suitable. Attack speed mods improve the effect. I've gotten junk the last several times I've done them. My last drop was Flame Repellant. I can't speak for the one in the cathedral-height room you have to use Nova or the infinite wall climb to reach, but I don't think they'd divide loot tables based on specific rooms. Best thing I ever got from them was Hell's Chamber and G3 are more reliable (if much less common) for good drops.

Low. i don't know numbers, but low. I farmed them for a day when they first hit and never found them. Had them spawn once with goons (successful), had them spawn once with pubbies (host migration by a jerk who listened to Lotus and left got me killed). Best advice I can give is to play with other marked goons doing other stuff (Prosecutor farming, Cambria, etc.) and hope they show up.
