So is the new Killer Instinct fun to play at least? Every time I've watched it on a stream it's been boring, and the overall art design is just really ugly. But it gets featured on "big" streams and tourneys, and top names have been playing it so it must have something going for it?

It's another one of those games that are honestly more fun to play than watch I'll admit. Some matches can get fairly hype if you understand every little game mechanic, others are just boring because the top players play entirely too safe for it to be entertaining. That's about all the defense I have for the game though.

I don't think it is unreasonable to believe that MS gave Wizard a bunch of Xbox's and maybe even some cash and that's one of the reasons it's going to be at EVO. It might have made it anyway based on being a new game, but when it was announced as an XBONE exclusive I think the community pretty much wrote it off. EVO usually follows the whims of the community. Same for MLG. I think it's widely accepted that SF4 is the most played fighting game (especially internationally) but MLG went with Injustice and KI. Word on the street is it costs money to get your game in that competition, and some devs didn't want to pony up the money. Makes sense for Capcom because they are doing their own thing anyway.

This is basically gonna be GentlemanThief vs. the world, as he's the only western player that's known to even come remotely close to beating high level Japanese players. What's amazing about that is GT has no scene where he lives, he's from Florida and got really good just doin training mode lab stuff and playing online! Anyway please watch, VF is probably my favorite fighting game series of all time and this is gonna be good!
