Edit: And he's got Return in the first slot, which on a normal type with max happiness is the most powerful attack the game without a drawback, and we've almost certainly got max happiness on everyone from wandering around so much. Of course someone in chat just pointed out that every time he faints that goes down, so if we keep losing, it'll get harder and harder to win... At least they have a backup Normal move in Tri-Attack which can replace Return if and when it gets weakened from fainting too much.

I started playing Platinum recently. It's probably one of the most challenging games in the series. I fight everyone, and I'm frequently underleveled against most trainers. Add in the usual TPP incompetence... it'll take them a while.

FRLG has the first actual postgame unless you count GSC, I'm kinda disappointed we're apparently not gonna do that. The Sevii Islands are nice. e: Although I'll take Mystery Dungeon! The GBA/DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games are incredibly good.

Yeah, but we can go in with a full team and there are no random battles before it, so it'll be fairly simple to just win the war of attrition. 6 on 1 is pretty good odds. But I forgot about Twitch having to navigate the Distortion World, which will probably be the bigger obstacle. Platinum is going to be great to watch.

The Platinum run should be quite interesting. They will be able to get the following four free Pokemon: Togepi, Eevee, Porygon, and Riolu. There's also the three(!) evolution stones found in a dungeon after the third gym.

To be fair, Porygon is kinda crap without evolution (which they won't be able to do easily) and you get Riolu as an egg after the fifth or sixth gym. So it'll be almost impossible for Twitch to grind up to an acceptable level. Seeing if they can manage to get an Eevelution will be interesting though. Going for Espeon or Vaporeon would be the sane thing to do, so I predict they beeline for Leafeon or Flareon who are almost unsalvageably bad without collecting shards/heartscales. I can't wait Also, Staraptor is amazing and with a tiny bit of co-ordination and effort could easily carry us through the game.
