That looks rendered, and a bit like agricultural machinery. Like a big tractor with that front bumper cover should be going down rows of some small plant, sucking them in and spitting bundles of plant matter out the back.

Fuuuuuuck. This just happened in Toronto, apparently around the corner from Ferrari of Ontario. It's on Jalopnik. Apparently the mechanic was driving it. I would say someone is out of a job this afternoon. http://jalopnik.com/noooooooo-ferrari-f40-destroyed-in-test-drive-1568863734 GTi_guy fucked around with this message at 20:54 on Apr 28, 2014 |

Link says someone was running a red light at the exact wrong time for that F40. I guess it depends on how the shop is run. I bet the jaw of the insurance agent for the person in the Dodge hit the desk. "You hit a what??"

C'mon this is Canada we're talking about; as a civilised nation we don't fire people for things that obviously aren't their fault. Being a million-dollar car, I can pretty much guarantee that F40 is getting fixed.

Wow, the visible damage difference between the two is stunning. The Dart damage looks like it'll just buff out compared to the demolished Ferrari....

At least it's only front end damage. Should come in well under 300k in repairs.

Unless I get an umbrella policy that covers a lot more than the car, the standard maximums are 250/500 for liability while the minimums will barely cover a minor accident with a nice car.

State minimums tend to be something stupid low in the like 25-50k range. Which is why un/underinsured coverage has gotten so loving expensive but is also essential. Even if the assclown that t-bones you is "insured" he might only be insured for 50k and that isn't going go very far when you're driving even a reasonably nice car plus hospital bills. My un/underinsured coverage basically costs the same as my 250/500 liability coverage. Not only do I have to insure myself, but I have to loving insure every other idiot that might crash into me because the laws (and enforcement) are so lovely. It's such a scam. Das Volk posted:Stuff like this (and insane medical bills) is why I carry 500k in liability. That seems insane. $500k would probably barely cover repairs to the F40. Luckily we're in the land of socialized medicine, otherwise I wouldn't even want to think about adding medical bills on top of that.

I have a step or two above state minimum liability coverage. To up that to $500k would nearly double my premium.

Had some chick hit me on my bike with CA minimum insurance. $5k. To avoid being sued to cover the rest of the bills and poo poo, she somehow envoked her dad's policy which was somehow attached to the account or some poo poo to cover the rest + punitive. Not sure how it happened, the insurance handled everything, but yeah. $5k is possible here.

I had the minimum on my first car because I was a dumb teenager. 10k accident max, I had one accident (following too closely like a dumb highschooler, car in front decided to turn left w/o signal) and that accident got me a few dollars away from $10k. Made my butthole pucker for sure. Now 500k per vehicle.

Yeah you guys are insane. My province is 400k minimum and I'm carrying 2 mil on everything. A kid I went to high school with took out a Buick dealership with a Civic and a 40. Something like 36 cars totalled, he just went from one end of the lot to the other.

The flip side though is that Ontario insurance is really expensive. I'm in a small town so it's not too bad, but even so I have: - 2002 Subaru impreza, liability only, 75/month - 1999 Miata, full coverage, 86/month That's with multi car + house discount as a 25 year old guy with a clean record and one claim on the miata (hit & run, which in Ontario doesn't affect rates).

Full coverage on a 2011 Honda cr-z, a 2013 KTM, liability+comp on a small Honda scooter and renters. 28 years old and no at faults or moving violations. That's the max allowed per policy here.

Guinness posted:Yeah, this. State minimums tend to be something stupid low in the like 25-50k range. Texas has 30/60/25 (per person/maximum/property). And sadly, that's what I carry. I have zero assets aside from the car, but once I have a better paying job, I plan to bump it to at least 100k (probably 150k combined split limits). My insurance should take a nosedive in rates this year, as pretty much every negative entry is falling off of my credit within 6 months. I added 50k in medical coverage for myself/passengers, it added a whopping $4/mo to my policy.
