i like ds2 but... ugh... i liked ds1 better in a lot of ways mostly because in ds1 i never really stood around thinking "what the gently caress am i doing", it was always pretty clear about what you want to do any why youre doing it. ds2 i just sort of stumbled around after a certain point and never really got what i was even doing around 90% of the time except some vague goal of "kill king". hurts the setting a lot and wound up having to look up what i was even supposed to be doing several times which also was irritating because i didnt want to do that. anor londo was great because of the buildup and i feel like a lot of places in ds2 were less cool just because i didnt even know what the gently caress they were and even looking at the item descriptions for the poo poo i had didnt really explain much at all. being able to actually pvp consistently in rat/bell covenant makes up for it tho. too bad the red/blue covenants dont do poo poo until ng+ apparently due to there being no loving red orbs at all. its still a very good game.
